As in previous Blog Hops, I've chosen a theme for my cards this week.  My theme this month is a little different.  I've chosen one of the weekly Speedy TV Sketch Challenge with a Twist challenges for each day and will make a card using that sketch.   My first card uses challenge 48 -- and the twist for that challenge was to make a Miss You card.  (I'm afraid I "missed" the mark on this one!)   Here's the sketch and my card:

I did move the circles to appear on top of the cross piece, which in my case was the stamped cattails.  Aren't those frogs adorable?

My second card was made with the Karen Burniston Accordion Fancy Label die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  With the exception of the little frog on the front (which is from another new set we'll feature later this week called Tree Frogs), all of the images and sentiments are from today's mini set.

Also featured today is a new background stamp called Plywood.  Sketch Challenge with a Twist 45 is the layout I used.  The Twist was that the base color should be Kraft.  (I hit the mark on this one!)

I stamped the Plywood image and then cut it into the three tall narrow panels and adhered it to the dark brown square.  Then I used another masculine set, Buffalo Spring, for the focal image.  The sentiments on the banner are both from today's set.

My second card using Plywood also uses another masculine set from Mark's Finest Papers, Duck Hunting. I send cards to Operation Write Home, so I used the sentiment from MFP I Need a Vacation on it and will include it in my next box of cards.

Speedy TV Tutorial Time - Double Bugged

Today's Tutorial Time challenge on Speedy TV is called "Double Bugged" as in CuttleBUG.  Here's Lis Robson's tutorial.

And here's my card.  I used both a Darice Fireworks embossing folder and a Tim Holtz Music embossing folder to make my New Years card.

CCEE 1419 - No Socks Day!

Frances found a fun holiday to celebrate today.  In honor of No Socks Day she asked the CCEE Stampers to make a card using an image that has bare feet.  I don't know if I'm cheating on my card, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek at a new stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers today.  It's called Tree Frogs -- and I'm sure that frogs have bare feet!

Speedy TV Tutorial Time Challenge - Flip Card

I may have cheated just a little bit for today's Tutorial Time challenge over on Speedy TV.  Barb's tutorial uses a regular thin die to cut the shape for her flip card, but I recently bought some Flip-It dies and used one of them.  It really made making this card quite easy.  If you don't have any Flip-It dies, be sure to check out her tutorial because it's very instructive.  Here's my card:

More Than One Score Challenge #4

I've been having fun with the "More Than One Score" challenge over on the Scor-Pal blog.  Each month is a different theme, BUT you have to have more than one score on it.  This month's theme is pretty easy -- Include a Stamped Image.  I've made a sneak peek at a brand-new stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers called Tiger Lily.   I may have mentioned previously on my blog that my mom was very artistic -- one of her many talents was floral designer.  I actually have an example of this on my bathroom vanity.  And, just by coincidence, it includes some tiger lilies, along with some Lilies of the Valley.

With the addition of this month's Tiger Lily set, MFP has both of the flowers which make up the arrangement; so I combined them (with a little bit of masking and layering) to make my Easel Card.

Speedy TV Tutorial Time - Standing Z-Fold Card

Today's Tutorial Time challenge was a card I had never tried before -- a Standing Z-Fold card -- but I discovered that I LOVE it!!!  Pat Garvin created a tutorial, which you can check out here.  I decided to make a Christmas card this week, using one of my favorite color combinations (blue and brown) and a sunrays background.
