Karen Burniston September Designer Challenge - HOUSE

Can I start this blog post by saying that I am so excited to be part of the Karen Burniston Design Team and being able to play along with the rest of the very talented ladies on the team?  The September Designer Challenge is entitled HOUSE.  As a new member of the team, I don't yet have the dies from the new September release, which includes a really cool "house" die; but I was able to play along in this month's challenge by using a house stamp and a couple of other Karen Burniston dies -- the Fancy Label Accordion die and the Fancy Flourish Frames.  I used just a simple sentiment from the Sunny Studio Christmas Home stamp set on the front, which in reality is actually the back!

But when you open this accordion, you'll find my houses.

I love the way the Fancy Flourish Frames accent the edges so nicely.  Of course, I spent more time popping out those cut-out sections than I did stamping!

The dies used on this card are:

CCEE1610 Johnny Appleseed

Frances continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this month.  She let us know that tomorrow is Johnny Appleseed Day and asked us to include an apple on our card.  Frances is the queen of the fun fold cards, so I made an accordion card in her honor and had some alphabet fun in the process.

Stop over at the CCEE Stampers blog to see what else has come out of the apple orchard today.

CCEE 1443 - Fall Colors

Liz and Lynn asked the CCEE Stampers to put on their Fall Colors this week.  I used a Karen Burniston accordion circle die and the Mark's Finest Papers Scarecrow stamp set to make my card today.

CCEE1407 - Punch Art

Vicky wanted the CCEE Stampers to make a card using punch art (use at least three punches and no dies).  I think my very favorite punch is the Martha Stewart branch punch -- so that was the main punch I used on this card.  I punched many, many branches out to make the wreath.  I used a couple of other punches on the wreath too -- the bow and the tiny flowers. You can't see it, but under the branches is a frame that I punched using two circle punches.  In addition, I punched out the oval for the sentiment.

Stop over at the CCEE Stampers blog and see what the rest of the team did with their punches.

The special stamp set we have for you this month is:

"News From The Woods"

The mini stamp set we have for you this month is

                                                         "Corn Ears"

Several of my cards for this month's blog hop were made using directions from some of the cards I found in a new issue of Just Cards 3D.  My first card today is one of them -- an accordion-fold card.  It folds up to a 4 1/4" x 4" card.  I adjusted the directions from the card in the magazine.  That one measured 3" x 5 1/4" when folded up.

I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock for the base and scored it at 1 3/4", 3", 5", and 7".

The extra set for this month is called News from the Woods.  I made a very simple card using this set for you to see today.

There are actually three different "critters" you can choose from (the owl, a bear, and a cute little raccoon) -- all of which will peek out of that center birch tree.

Be sure to check out all the cards in today's Blog Hop and comment on as many as you can.  Remember the more you comment, the more chances you have to win a free set of stamps.
