Today's Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge is to use one of my favorite colors -- purple. I used several scraps of DP that were in my "purple" drawer and an image from an MFP set called No Sour Grapes. The sentiment is from another set Now Showing.
Come on over to the MFP Blog and play along with us -- you might just be the winner of a stamp set.

CCEE1326 - Dryer Sheet Flower
Brenda started off her month as hostess of the CCEE Stampers challenges with a technique I rarely use, and she's ending it with a technique I have never used -- Dryer Sheet Flower. She gave us a link to the Splitcoaststampers tutorial, which I definitely had to check out. After you have cut out the shapes from the dryer sheet, the instructions tell you to spray them with spray ink or shimmer mist. Unfortunately, I had neither; so I put on my thinking cap. I took a small mister filled with water and added some purple reinker. Guess what -- it worked! Also new to me was the Decorative Labels One die, which I really like. I've had the Floral Flourishes dies for a while, but this was the first time I used them.

The special stamp set we have for you this month is:
"You Are an Angel"
"Wings"
Welcome to the Antique Car Show! This set is great for making guy cards -- three classic cars and lots of good masculine sentiments. I'm not sure what kind of cars these are supposed to be, but I googled "classic car" to make sure I colored them with appropriate colors. I like the big grommets on my first card. You can't really see it, but IRL you can see the red background in the center holes. I found the macadam DP in a big 12 x 12 photo paper pad I've had for several years.
I had the design of this second card in my head for a couple of days before I started putting it together. I almost tried to make individual banners for the word CLASSIC (because that's how I had envisioned it), but it was too much work. So I finally just curved the sentiment and cut one big banner. I cut the yellow matting with a pair of decorative scissors. The "road" is a Cuttlebug chevron border folder.
And that's it for this month's hop. Hopefully you found at least one or two ideas for how you can use these new stamps from Mark's Finest Papers. And make sure you check out the blogs of the rest of the team.

"You Are an Angel"
Today's set could be used for several USA holidays -- Memornial Day and Fourth of July in particular. My first card is a thank-you card to a veteran and would lend itself very well for Memorial Day. Both my dad and my brother were in the Marines, and I have a soft spot in my heart for veterans.
Here's a card for the 4th of July. I recently found those QuicKutz dies on clearance on-line. They are actually supposed to be a cannon blast, but I think they will pass for fireworks!

CCEE1324 - Baby Card
Brenda's challenge for the CCEE Stampers this week was to make a baby card/girl or boy, and we got bonus points if we had some soft green or yellow colors. I actually had both soft green and yellow, so maybe I got lots of bonus points!
I love making fun fold cards so that's what I chose for today -- a Joy Fold card.
My daughter was at a garage sale a while ago and brought me a whole bunch of embellishments she found. That's where I got the little beaded sentiment, which I used to hold the card closed. The corner of the front image panel is just tucked in behind it. I added some 3-D clear lacquer to the bubbles to give them a little shine.
If you'd like to see the rest of the team members' baby cards, hop on over to the CCEE Stampers blog.

The special stamp set we have for you this month is:
"You Are an Angel"
"Wings"
Even though the images on today's set, Firefighter, are really cute, this was the most challenging set for me. I did finally decide to use the cute Dalmatian puppies. When I was a teenager, we had a Dalmatian, which I have to tell you was not the brightest dog I've ever had. But we loved him nonetheless! We discovered an interesting "trick" he would perform. If you threw a cigarette butt on the ground, he would pounce on it and try to put it out. (This was in the days when we didn't know that cigarettes could kill you.) So maybe that's why Dalmatians are called fire dogs -- because they really do try to put out fires! BTW, the small fire hydrant was an afterthought. There was a smudge on the paper, and I was trying to hide it.
As a bonus today, I'm showing you projects I made with the 5th and mini sets for this month -- a center-step card and a small memo pad holder. I actually used this card for my June Christmas Card challenge card on Speedy TV, making four of them using You Are an Angel. There's lots of glitz-and-glitter on this card. In addition to the gold glitter paper that I used for the matting pieces and the narrow strips, I put Stickles on the angel wings. I did some paper-piecing on this card -- the horn is gold paper and the gown is cream-colored shimmer paper.
I attended a card workshop on Saturday, and one of the projects we made was a small memo pad. I thought it was really cute and decided to try to make one using the mini set for this month -- Wings. I went up to Staples and bought some small memo pads, which were unfortunately just a bit larger than the one we used in class. So I had to adjust the measurements of the original to fit the larger pad. In addition, I used velcro to hold it closed rather than the magnets we used in class. The magnet sheets I had were not strong enough to hold it closed.
Here it is opened.
Thanks for visiting my blog today. I hope you were inspired by my projects. Be sure to check out the rest of the design team members' blogs for more inspiration.

I used a little bit of paper piecing for my first card. I had a pad of K & Company designer paper that had some tropical-looking paper in it, so I stamped the hibiscus on the same papers as I used for the inside and the front panel. When I inked up the sentiment, I rubbed the ink off the heart before I stamped it. Then I punched out a small heart from the same patterned paper.
Here is the inside. The flamingo is also paper-pieced.
When you go on vacation, chances are that you'll send a post card or two back to your friends. So I made one using some of the images from another MFP set, All Postal. I found a small piece of patterned paper in my "blue" drawer that had some words on it that seemed to be appropriate for a leisurely vacation -- peace, tranquility, calm, serenity.
I hope you like my "vacation" cards and plan to check out the rest of the design team members' blogs. I'm sure you'll love what everyone has done with this fun set.

CCEE1323 - Direct to Paper
Another month, another CCEE Stampers hostess. Brenda is starting her month as hostess with a technique that I rarely use -- Direct to Paper. Brenda gave us a link to the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers, which I checked out, and then decided to dive right in. I'm not sure I'm happy with the results, but it is what it is!
The heron image is actually a line image, but I colored it in with black to make the silhouette.
Why don't you pop over to the CCEE Stampers blog and see what the rest of the team did with this technique.
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers - Marsh Birds, Marsh Silhouettes
Paper: Mark's Finest Papers - Bang-Up Blue, Licorice Whips, Snow Storm Smooth
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black; Tim Holtz Distress Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Scattered Straw
Accessories: Clear embossing powder, Silver pearls

Speedy Fox & Friends - Pocket Card
Today the Speedy Fox and Friends challenge was to make a pocket card. In looking for tutorials I found several different types of pocket cards. I settled on this double pocket card. I used one of the new MFP sets from the May release for my card. My BFF and I go to the movies almost every week. I thought I would give this to her on her next birthday -- with some movie tickets in that second pocket.
