Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peeks - Day 2

 Again I'm using several dies from the new Karen Burniston release -- Playful Pop-up and Dog & Cat Playful Add-ons.

I have a friend who is not quite a "crazy cat lady," but she's bordering it.  I used today's dies on this card for her.  

The front of the card is relatively simple using Word Set 4 and the cat from Cat and Dog . . .

. . . but the inside is where the action happens.  As you could see from the video above, his paws, ear, and tongue move when you open and close the card.  My friend's cat is a tri-color, so I tried to blend the black and brown to match her cat.

That big MEOW is also a new die as are the small mouse border and the greeting label.  The label set contains additional sizes of many of the labels in various Karen Burniston die sets. The sentiment is part of one of the new stamp sets.

I hope my friend likes her card.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Fluffy

It's time again for the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.  The theme of this month's challenge is "Make it Fluffy."   As Karen said, "You decide what's fluffy - is it an animal? Clouds? Something in the kitchen? Incorporate something fluffy into your design." I decided on a fluffy angora cat.

My granddaughter's birthday is in April, and she's a big cat lover; so I made this birthday card for her. The front of the card is a relatively simple lead-in to the inside.

When you open the card, there sits the fluffy cat on a fluffy pillow inside a Lorna Label Pop-up which has been cut-out.  What do you know -- another fluffy object!

Needless to say, she loved the card.

December Designer Challenge

It's Designer Challenge Day for the Karen Burniston design team.  The theme this month is "Happy New Year."  It's hard to believe that 2024 is almost over.  For my card I created a little Christmas scene on the front . . . 

. . . and a festive Happy New Year fireworks display on the inside.  I decided to use a die that I hadn't used in a while -- the Spinner Square.  

 I was so happy when I saw that the latest release included these really cool fireworks.  I don't know if you can tell, but I used glitter paper on them -- they really sparkle!

Karen Burniston Sneak Peek - Day 5

Some time ago, one of the designers on the team asked Karen Burniston to make a set of tools.  Karen is very accommodating.  My first card uses this new set -- Tool Charms -- as well as another new die -- Happy Father's Day, again with a shadow.

My second card for today uses the cute Tiny House Pop-Up -- this time making it a dog house.

Here is a really close-up so you can see how the inked-up element of the roof looks.

I used a label maker to create the sign over the door with Rex's name on it.
