CCEE2107 Love Your Pet Day

 Manal continues this week as hostess for the CCEE Stampers and tells us that it is Love Your Pet Day.    She asked us to create a project which showcases pets, feeling free to include children.  I don't have any pets, but I have a good friend who loves her cat.  So that was the direction in which I went with my card.  I've had that pawprint patterned paper in my stash for years and finally had the chance to use it.  The main image is from Paper Nest Dolls.

Inside the card is a Karen Burniston pop-up die (the Flip Frame Pop-Up) along with the sentiment that accompanies the PND cutie on the front.

CCEE1829 - National Zookeepers Week

Lynn continues this week with another challenge to the CCEE Stampers.  She told us that trips to the zoo were always one of her favorite summer activities and asked that we honor the zookeepers of the world by including a zoo animal in our design this week.  My card depicts one of these animals (the elephant) -- but in his natural environment rather than in the zoo.

CCEE1801 Waddle We Do in 2018?

Liz Williams started the new year off with a little pun -- "Waddle we do in 2018?"  She asked the CCEE stampers to use a penguin or other animal that loves the cold.  Right before Christmas I had bought a cute little Mama Elephant winter set with some skating penguins.  They were perfect for Liz's challenge.  I tried a new Heartfelt Creations product on my trees.  It's called Frosting Powder.  I love it!

CCEE1639 - Christmas and/or Winter Card

Summer is officially over, so I asked the CCEE Stampers to make a Christmas or Winter card.   My card is a center-step card.  I love making Christmas cards all year long.

CCEE1508 - Moon

Sabrina mentioned that the month of February sometimes does not include a Full Moon.  The last time this happened was in 1999.  She asked the CCEE Stampers to make a card featuring the moon.  I decided to have a little fun with this challenge and stamped my moon on shrinkable plastic and make a charm out of it.

CCEE1441 International Drum Month

Liz and Lynn brought the CCEE Stampers another fun challenge this week.  In honor of International Drum Month (October) and Universal Music Day (Oct. 12), make a card or project using a drum or instrument image.  Here's mine:

CCEE1422 - Number It!

Frances is ending her month as hostess of the CCEE Stampers Blog with an interesting challenge -- Number It!  We were to include a number somewhere on our card.  I took the opportunity to make an anniversary card for good friends of mine who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.  I used a fun fold technique called a Building Block Card to create my card.

CCEE1343 - Non-Traditional Halloween

This month's CCEE Stampers hostess, Anne Harmon, asked the team to make a Halloween card -- but in non-traditional colors (no orange, black, green, or purple).  My daughter-in-law Alex is going to be participating in a Zombie Run next month -- as a zombie, not a runner.  As their team is being sponsored by the doctor's office where she works, they are called the Dead Meds.  Fellow CCEE Stamper, Vicky Gould, shared a digital image of a zombie nurse with me -- and I made this card for Alex.  My colors are red, brown, and gray.

CCEE1241

This week our CCEE challenge hostess, Brenda, is getting into fall -- her challenge:  Fall Colors and a Punched Border.  Nothing says fall colors like leaves, so I looked through my patterned paper and found a sheet of HOTP Fall Leaves that was just what I wanted for my background.

I cut my cream-colored cardstock to 5 1/4" wide and then used the Martha Stewart leaf border punch on one side, saving the punched-out leaves to use later.  I stamped and colored the pumpin; then stamped the image.  Using some Tim Holtz Distress inks, I colored the punched-out leaves various fall colors.  I wanted the leaves to fall through the sentiment; so, after I colored them, I stamped the sentiment again on a piece of scrap paper -- with the yellow one getting part of the stamping.  Both the pumpkin and the image are from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company, in a set called Autumn Splendor.

CCEE126 - Tags

Kathy's last challenge for June is to make a tag or a card with a tag.  In this month's Technique Junkie Newsletter is a technique called the Tag Fence Technique, and I thought it would be perfect for Kathy's challenge.  I made the tags out of tan-colored cardstock, embossed with a woodgrain embossing folder.  I added a few branches behind my "fence" and some punched flowers, and I was pretty much done.

The happy birthday sentiment is from a new Mark's Finest Papers set called Silly Shells.  My card obviously has no shells, but the sentiment works!
