CCEE2148 - Celebrate with Song

Lynn McAuley is the CCEE Stampers hostess for December.  For today's challenge, she chose "celebrate with song" as her theme.  She asked that the CCEE Stampers use song lyrics from a holiday song (either secular or religious) as the sentiment on the front of their Christmas design.

I recently purchased a couple of Hero Arts stamp and die sets that seemed to coordinate with each other.  One set is just dies (Tri-fold Edge Village Fancy Die) and the other set is both stamps & dies (Cozy Village).  Many of the houses on the Cozy Village stamps were the same as those on the Tri-fold Edge Village die, so I tried an experiment.   I think it worked!

The sentiment on the stamp set was just "Santa is coming to town," but that's not exactly the same as the song; so I printed it out on my computer.  I've had that little sleigh and reindeer stamp for many years, and it was the perfect size.

Scor-Pal "More Than One Score"

My card for the Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" challenge this month is a slimline bridge card.  I recently purchased a Hero Arts die set called Tri-Fold Village Fancy Die Set, which I thought was so pretty.  Since then, I found a "sort-of" matching stamp and die set called Cozy Town.  Many of the buildings in this stamp set match the shape of the buildings in the Tri-Fold set.  

As you can see, the dies span the center opening of this card, forming a "bridge," as dpes the sentiment, which is the Karen Burniston "Merry Christmas" greeting and shadow.

The card folds flat for mailing and fits in a business-size envelope.

C4C590 Fairy Day

For the final Crazy4Challenges post this month, we were told that Thursday, June 24th was Fairy Day, so for our challenge this week, we were to create a card that includes a fairy/fairies.

I recently won a Hero Arts coverplate die of a fairy, and this is the first time I've used it.  I did a bit of ink blending for the background, mounted the die-cut over it, and stamped an appropriate sentiment.  It wasn't until I looked closer at the card that I realized that I had laid the die-cut on upside-down.  Oops!  But it was too pretty to throw away.  Hopefully, the recipient won't notice.

CCEE2109 - Old Stuff Day

 Frances starts her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers with a good challenge.  She says:  "Apparently the 2nd of March was Old Stuff Day.  For our challenge this week, let's combine something older (stamps, dies, etc.) with something newish."  Whenever I have to use "something old," I always go back to the very first Stampin' Up stamp set I ever bought -- Fishy Friends.  My "something newish" is not a brand-new set (it's from 2018), but it's new to me and the first time it's seen ink.

This mermaid from Hero Arts is my newish item.  It is popped up on a CottageCutz rock attached to a Karen Burniston Mini Pop-Up die, surrounded by waves from KB Tropical Scene.

CCEE2016 - Stencils

Frances continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week.  She reminded us that there are so many fun stencils out there these days to help decorate our cards.  She asked us to create a card that uses at least one stencil, either for a background or a focal image.

I don't have a whole lot of stencils, but one that I really like is this fun bubble one from Kindred Stamps.  It makes a great background for these cute Hero Arts goldfish.

Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" Challenge

The theme of this month's Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" challenge is "all things bright and beautiful."  When I saw that, the first thing I thought of was bright, cheery flowers.  My card is a Z-fold with lots of pretty yellow and pink hibiscus flowers.

The dimensional flowers were made with stamps and dies from Tropical Hibiscus by Heartfelt Creations.  The layered ones on the inside are Hero Arts Layering Hibiscus stamps.

CCEE1746 - Happy Birthday, Joanne!

Joanne continues hosting the CCEE Stampers challenge and tells us that today is her birthday.  She asked us to make a feminine birthday card with flowers.  I recently found this layered hibiscus stamp set and wanted to give it a try.  Today was the perfect day!!!  And I used the Triple Stamping Technique again.
