CCEE2104 - Warm and Cozy

Lynn finishes up her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers with a good challenge.  She said:  Many of us are experiencing very cold days during late January.  Feature on your design something that makes you feel warm and cozy even on the coldest of winter days.  It doesn't get quite as cold in Florida as it does in some parts of the country, but we do get some cold days.  The design on the front of my card was made with stencils (STAMPlorations and Honey Bee Stamps), and the fireplace on the inside is from Honey Bee Stamps as well.  It pops up using a Mini Pop-Up die from Karen Burniston.

A nice fire in the fireplace always makes me feel warm and cozy.  Visit the CCEE Stampers blog to see what warms up the rest of the team.

Double Gatefold Slimline Card

I've been seeing some interesting slimline cards on the internet lately, and one really caught my eye -- a double gatefold slimline card.  Several that I've seen also include one of Karen Burniston's Pivot Panel dies.  I decided to try my hand at making one of them.

I used some of "that paper" from Hobby Lobby along with the Gift Pivot Panel dies to make a birthday card.  The card base is the last of my Stampin' Up Not Quite Navy cardstock.  I made a shadow for my birthday sentiment and scattered some sequins around the two front panels.

When you open the card, you get two pivot panels on the inside, which I decorated with some scraps of patterned paper I had in my stash.

Here are a couple of close-ups of the inside.  As you can see, I also added some Border Blends to the tops and bottoms of the panels.

This was a fun project -- and I'm thinking just the first of more.

CCEE2103 - Time for a Laugh

Lynn continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week.  She said:  you may not have heard, but Sunday is National Belly Laugh Day! Lord knows we all need a good laugh these days so create a card that will have us all laughing out loud! Bonus points if you make me spew my coffee on the computer screen when I see your creation!

The best place to find sentiments that will make you laugh is at Riley & Co.  I used one of their stamps to hopefully give you a good one.  I added some Karen Burniston frames and a couple of gnomes.

The CCEE Stampers blog will have some more humor for you.  Please visit there.

CCEE2102 - National Dress-Up Your Pet Day

Lynn continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week and has a challenge related to a "day" I've never heard of before -- National Dress Up Your Pet Day.  In honor of this grand occasion, we are to feature an animal of any kind, dressed up in the clothing of your choice.  Add a fun sentiment to cheer up an animal lover's day.  Brownie points if you share a picture of your pet dressed to celebrate on your blog today!

No brownie points for me -- I don't have a pet.  But I did dress up Riley the Moose as a Happy Camper, toasting a marshmallow over the fire.

Inside the card shows his camper, along with a lantern.  These two images are popped up using Karen Burniston's Mini Pop-Ups.  I included a small oval panel on which to add a personal message.

Be sure to check out some more dressed-up animals on the CCEE Stampers blog.

CCEE2101 - Life Changes

Happy New Year, everyone (just a little late)!  Lynn McAuley is the hostess for this month's CCEE Stampers' challenges.  The new year usually means New Year's Resolutions.  For today's challenge, Lynn would like for our cards to feature something that you could add to or subtract from your life to improve the quality of your physical or mental health.  This can be tongue-in-cheek or the real deal.

I love to read but don't find enough time to just sit down and do it.  My card reflects this desire.  I've used several different dies on this card.  The front has a book shelf full of books from Elizabeth Craft Designs and the sentiment die from Karen Burniston.

The inside has a little surprise pop-up (the Karen Burniston Bitty Ball Pop-Up die) as well as an old Spellbinders Label Seven die, with the alphabet letters from Honey Bee Stamps.  I don't know if you can see the book lying there or read the text on the background and on the Bitty Ball, but I am a big Lord of the Rings fan.

And this little video shows how the ball pops up upon opening the card.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see how the rest of the team said they could improve their lives this year.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge -- Thinking of You

Here it is -- the first Tuesday of the new year and time again for the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.  This month's challenge is pretty generic -- Thinking of You.  The front of my card is fairly simple, although I used some of "that paper" from Hobby Lobby.  I thought the simple circle (using the Crosshatch - Circle dies) with the sentiment was just enough.

The inside uses more of "that paper" as well as one of my go-to pop-ups, the Katherine Label.  I sponged a little blue ink around the edges of the smaller die.  The sentiment uses Word Set 1 - Greetings.

This little video shows how the pop-up works.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you liked my card.
