I'm a big sports fan; and, when I first saw a card Karen Burniston made using the Surprise Cube Pop-Up set, I had an idea pop into my brain using it with the new Sports Charms and has been floating around in there ever since.

Karen Burniston New Release - Sneak Peek Day 7

And my final sneak peek from the new Karen Burniston release is a mini slimline card featuring the cute little Bam Box.  My neighbor's daughter loves mermaids, so I made this card for her using stamps from Kindred Stamps and some fun patterned paper.   This is a "no reason, just because" card.

As you can see, when you open the card, up pop two more mermaids.

This side view shows the two Bam Boxes behind them.  BTW, the card is held closed with two small magnets placed under the patterned paper.

Tomorrow is the big reveal of the new release.  We've got a blog hop showing off many more cards using the new dies.  Comment on any or all of the blogs, and you might just win a $25 gift certificate to the Karen Burnison website.

Karen Burniston New Release - Day 6

I've got another project made with that awesome Slider Box and Surprise Cube Pop-Up combination.

This will be going to my great granddaughter at Christmas.  She loves to watch Frozen.  This stamp set from Kindred Stamps was perfect for this project.

I also made that little bag in which the Slider Box will be presented.

Be sure to check out our Blog Hop on Monday.  You've got lots of chances to win a $25 gift certificate to the Karen Burniston website just by commenting on any one or all of the blog posts.

Karen Burniston New Release - Sneak Peek Day 5

Another new die set from Karen Burniston that will be released next week is the Sports Charms.  It covers a wide range of sports -- basketball, golf, soccer, football, baseball, and volleyball.

To say that I'm a football fan is putting it mildly.  When my kids were young, my daughter told me that I embarrassed her because she said she could hear me screaming at the TV all the way down the street.  I rather doubt that, but I am pretty enthusiastic when I'm watch the Miami Dolphins on TV.  The card I have today is going to my son, who is also an avid Dolphins fan.  I used the Label Charm Pop-Up with the Mini Alphabet and Numbers showing on the front.

For the inside, I stenciled the yard lines (using a stencil from Kindred Stamps) and added the Dolphins logo.  Hanging in the center panel is one of the new Sports Charms -- the football.   My blog hop post on Monday will show several more of the Sports Charms on the card I made.  So I hope you'll check it out.

Only a couple more days before the new dies will be available to purchase on the Karen Burniston website!

Karen Burniston New Release - Sneak Peek Day 4

Can I say that one of the new sets that I'm using today is the cutest thing I've seen in a very long time.  As an avid reader, the new Bookworm really touches my heart.  I've used it along with the new Bam Box, which is a fun one, and the new Hexagon - Crosshatch set.

I recently purchased a book-related stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs which are the perfect accompaniment to this cute Bookworm.  I stamped one of the sentiments onto the hexagon die-cut for the intro to this project.  The cute little row of books at the bottom are from the Bookworm set.

A magnet is holding the card closed because, as you will see when you open the card, up pops that cute little bookworm.

Here's a little video showing the action.

As you can see, it just pops right up!

I've got some more sneak peeks for you in the next few days.  I hope you'll stop back and take a look.

CCEE2248 - Countdown Time

Today is our last 2022 CCEE Stampers challenge, and it is countdown time until the end of the year.  Our challenge this week is to make a card using a clock, stopwatch or just numbers to end the year.

Even at age 81, I'm still a nerd.  I love pop culture, and Stranger Things is one of my favorite shows.  Kindred Stamps has a couple of stamp sets depicting this fun Netflix show, and I pulled them out for my final CCEE card for the year.  If you're a ST fan, you'll understand this card.  If not, you should give it a try.  It's a fun adventure!

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see how the rest of the team handled this challenge.  Thanks for visiting us this year, and I hope you'll have a very happy new year!  Unfortunately, this will be the last CCEE Challenge.  Due to several reasons, the blog has run its course.  We have enjoyed the many years of creativity.

Karen Burniston New Release - Sneak Peek Day 3

Today's sneak peek from Karen Burniston actually includes three of the new dies -- Church and School Tiny House Add-ons, Wedding Charms, and Banners - Crosshatch.

The front of my card is relatively simple -- just a sentiment and some champagne glasses.

But the inside is where all the action is.  As you can see, the new add-on set contains all the pieces to transform that tiny house into a church -- domed windows and doors, a second story with the cross, and a stained-glass window.

I added Best Wishes on one side and the bride and groom on the other side, both mounted in the new Banners - Crosshatch.

I hope you stop back tomorrow for another sneak peek.

Karen Burniston New Release -- Sneak Peeks Day 2

Two of the dies from the new release were made for each other -- the Slider Box and the Surprise Pop-Up Cubes.  I have been having lots of fun with these two sets.

It's another Christmas project I have for you today.  I plan to give this to my grandson with a gift card inside -- as well as the cubes.

Here's a closer look at both the box and the cubes.  As you can see, there are lots of decorator pieces in this set.

Three cubes fit very nicely inside the box.  And when you pull the drawer out, BAM!  Out they pop!

Don't you agree that this is a fun project?  Come back tomorrow and I'll have another project using some of the new dies.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge -- Fireplaces throughout the year

The last Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for the year is a fun one.  All the DT members are using the Fireplace Pop-Up die, but each one of us is celebrating something different.  I'm celebrating Easter with my 5" x 7" card.  On the front I've got an Easter Bunny from the Spring Animals ready to give away some decorated Easter eggs.  The background scenery is some slimline designer paper from Whimsy Stamps, cut to size.

On the inside is my fireplace, all decorated up for Easter.  I used elements from both Fireplace Add-ons 1 and 2.  The scene in the window is the piece of designer paper I cut from the panel used on the front.  And actually, that "window" is one of the frames from the Slim Frames set.  I just added a cross piece to make it look like a double-hung window.

That cute bunny girl is from Paper Nest Dolls, colored with Copic markers.

I'm anxious to see all the different ways the DT has used this fireplace die for their cards.

Karen Burniston New Release -- Sneak Peek Day 1

Exciting times for the Karen Burniston design team.  Karen has a new release coming out next week, and we're going to be showing you some sneak peeks all this week.  There are 11 new dies in this release.  One of the new die sets will make it lots easier to make a Double-Wide Woven Basket.  As much fun as the Woven Basket is, I love making double-wide ones; and this add-on set makes it so much easier.

I have a neighbor who just loves flamingos.  I usually give her a religious card, but this year's Christmas card for her is full of flamingos -- all in the Double-Wide Woven Basket.  The new set includes the die to make the wider sides of this basket as well as a die for the grass.  These cute flamingos are from a retired My Favorite Things set called Festive Flamingos.

I added a couple of palm trees from the Palm Tree Pop-Up set along the back of my basket and decorated it with Christmas lights from the Holiday House set.

I'll have some more sneak peeks as the week goes on, as will the rest of the team; so be sure to check back.

Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" Challenge

Here it is -- the first of December and time for another Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" Challenge.  I recently saw a cool project that required lots of scoring and figured it was perfect for this month's challenge.  The person demonstrating it called it a self-closing treat box.  I made one along with her at the time -- and another one for this month's challenge.

The box is the perfect size for a gift card, which is what I am going to use it for.

CCEE2247 - Christmas Cards

Maryann gave the CCEE Stampers an easy challenge this week.  The first of the month means that Christmas is not far away.  We were to create a Christmas card in any style.

My sister was visiting in October and brought me some fun Gemini dies she had purchased from HSN.  One of them creates a gatefold card, which was perfect for this challenge.  An interesting feature of this particular die (Woodland Stags) is that it's a two-sided die.  You place the die between two pieces of cardstock, and it cuts from both sides -- giving you both sides of your "gate."  I had never seen a die like this before.

The inside of my card was created using a Stampin' Up Christmas stamp, die and embossing folder set I just purchased.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog for more creativity from the team.

CCEE2246 - Seaside Holiday

Maryann's final November challenge for the CCEE Stampers was for us to celebrate with a seaside holiday.  I pulled out an old Flourishes stamp set for my card.

Florida has had a terrible hurricane season this year, and it's so nice to see an end to it.  This serene scene is more like what I love about Florida, so I was happy to create it.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see how the rest of the team handled this challenge.

CCEE2245 - Fun Folds

Maryann asked the CCEE Stampers to create a card with more than a center fold -- think of an easel, pop-up, center step or shutter card.  I love learning new fun folds.  Karen Aiken posted a card a month or so ago that she called a Diamond Z-fold Slimline card, which was quite pretty.  I have made several of them since I first saw her card.  Today's card is one of them.

Here's a link to Karen Aiken's Youtube video in which she explains how to make this type of card  (252) Diamond Z-Fold Slimline Card & Tutorial - YouTube

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see what kind of fun-fold cards the rest of the team members have created.

CCEE2244 Silhouettes

Maryann is back with this week's challenge for the CCEE Stampers.  She asked the team to create cards with a beautiful silhouette.  It could be in a scene or a standalone image.

Ever since I discovered distress oxide inks, I love to do ink blending for backgrounds.  Today is no exception.  My background was created by blending four different inks -- Dusty Concord, Fired Brick, Ripe Persimmon and Wild Honey.

After the ink blending, I stamped two wildflower stamps from Just For Fun that I've had for years and added the sentiment, which is a die set from Karen Burniston called Just Because.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more beautiful silhouettes.

CCEE2243 - Walk Your Dog Week

Maryann is the hostess for the CCEE Stampers this month and starts off with an interesting challenge.  According to the days of the year calendar, it is Walk Your Dog Week, a weeklong holiday dedicated to bringing your dog a healthier lifestyle.   She asked us to make a card with your furry friend in mind.

I currently do not have a furry friend; but when I was a kid, we had a dalmatian called Patches.  My father's friends loved to throw lit cigarette butts on the ground and watch Patches pounce on them to put them out.  A true firehouse dog!

For my card I made a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Surprise Ball and Bitty Ball Pop-Ups.  The pups on the front of the card are from Kindred Stamps.

As you can see, you can take the dog out of the card for display.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for more tributes to our furry friends.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Snowman

The theme of the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge this month is "Snowman."  I've lived in Florida for over 50 years and haven't made a real snowman in many, many years.  But Karen has several die sets that give me an opportunity to make a paper snowman at least.  I pulled out several previously released dies for my card -- the Snowman Pop-Up being the main one, along with the Christmas Tree Pop-Up.  That said, the snowman on the front was actually made with circle dies approximately the same size as the Snowman Pop-Up.  I used the smallest plain circle from Crosshatch Circles for the head and one of the dies from the Circle Tag Book for the body.  I did bring in smaller dies from the Snowman Pop-Up for the rest of him -- his hat, features, scarf, and arms.  The tree is the one of the larger tree dies from the Christmas Tree Pop-Up.

To accommodate both the snowman and the tree, my card is 5" x 8".  Because of where the tree needed to be placed, I balanced out the layout with the snowflake die from Long Nature's Edges 2.  There was not enough room for the arms or boots that come with that die set.

It's hard to see in the photos, but both of those white rectangles are embossed with snowflakes.  I used the Crosshatch Rectangles for the small panel on which you can write your name.

Be sure to check out the cards made by the rest of the Karen Burniston Design Team for this challenge.

Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" Challenge

When my sister and I visited a local stamp store in Orlando last month, we saw a class project on display -- a cute little goodie bag.   She bought the kit for the bag, and I used the instructions to make my "More Than One Score" project for November.  You're supposed to use a lunch bag for the inside bag; but, being true to the "more than one score" rules of this challenge, I also made the bag using patterned paper.  The label on the front is held down by two very small magnets hidden behind the designer paper.

Check out the Scor-Pal blog to see how the rest of the design team handled November's challenge.

CCEE2242 - International Animation Day

Lynn's final CCEE Stampers challenge this month celebrates Animation Day, which is tomorrow.  What joyful and action-packed entertainment has filled our lives through the talented creations of the world's amazing animators.  In honor of these animators' remarkable work, we were to choose one of our favorite animated characters to feature on this week's CCEE design.  How fabulous would it be if you included the name of the animator who created your character!

Well, I was a bit limited to my choices (based on the stamps I own).  But Kindred Stamps has many pop culture stamps in their inventory, and one of them is called Tea Friends.  This is based on Alice in Wonderland.  I read both Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass as a kid several times.

I googled "Alice in Wonderland" and found this image of the Walt Disney movie.  I don't know who the specific animators were who worked on this film, so we'll give credit to Walt Disney Studios for this one.

The inside of my card sort of depicts the Mad Tea Party.  I used the Karen Burniston Little Labels Pop-Up, which fits very nicely inside a 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" mini slimline card.

If you're CURIOUS to see more tributes to the animators of this world, check out the CCEE Stampers blog.

CCEE2241 - Reptiles

Lynn has a fun challenge this week for the CCEE Stampers.  She tells us that tomorrow (Oct. 21) is National Reptile Day.  She said to be sure our card this week features the reptile of your choice:  an alligator, a lizard, a turtle, a snake, a dinosaur!  Or, include them all!

As a resident of Florida, I should be a Gators fan.  Unfortunately, I am not.  Go 'Noles!  But I have friends who definitely cheer on the Gators of the University of Florida.  So I have Albert the Alligator for you today, made with the Karen Burniston Bitty Ball Pop-Up.  The football field on the inside was created using a stencil from Kindred Stamps.

As you can see, Albert is able to leave the card in case the recipient wants to display him separately.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more reptile fun!

CCEE2240 - U.S. Navy Birthday

Lynn's challenge to the CCEE Stampers this week is to help celebrate the birthday of the U.S. Navy.  To honor the men and women who have served in our nation's navy since its inception, we were to create a card with a nautical theme.

I've got another card using the new Karen Burniston Label Charm Pop-Up die, as well as some of the previously released Cruise Charms.

For more nautical fun, check out the CCEE Stampers blog.
