CCEE2104 - Warm and Cozy

 Lynn finishes up her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers with a good challenge.  She said:  Many of us are experiencing very cold days during late January.  Feature on your design something that makes you feel warm and cozy even on the coldest of winter days.  It doesn't get quite as cold in Florida as it does in some parts of the country, but we do get some cold days.  The design on the front of my card was made with stencils (STAMPlorations and Honey Bee Stamps), and the fireplace on the inside is from Honey Bee Stamps as well.  It pops up using a Mini Pop-Up die from Karen Burniston.

Scor-Pal "More Than One Score"

This month's Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" challenge is Halloween/Harvest.  Like lots of other card makers, I've become obsessed with slimline cards.  I was curious as to how a slimline easel card would look and thought I would give it a try for the challenge, as there are two scores required.  I recently purchased some slimline stencils from STAMPlorations -- one of which would lend itself to a Halloween card.

The card closed is 4" x 9". I cut two panels -- one is 4" x 9" (scored at 4 1/2") and the other is 4" x 9 1/4", scored at 9" and gluing them together (overlapping the 1/4") making a panel 4" x 18". This makes the easel part. Then I glued another 4" x 9" panel to the "front" of the easel.

Before sponging on the inks, I punched a circle into a piece of scrap paper and placed it on my gray cardstock.  Then I laid the stencil over the cardstock and inked up the circle area with Versamark.  After removing the stencil and scrap paper, I sprinkled on some detail white embossing powder and embossed the "moon."  Then I laid the stencil back onto the cardstock and sponged on Ranger Distress Wilted Violet ink, applying Black Soot over it to tone down the purple color.  I then added the ghosts (trimming them to make it appear that they are coming out from behind the trees) and the bats.  The witch silhouette and sentiment on the bottom panel come from an old Inkadinkadoo Halloween set.  I applied the bottom panel to the card with foam tape, so that the upper panel would rest against it and stand up.

I was very happy with my end result.

Like many card makers, I have become obsessed with slimline cards.  I recently purchased a bunch of slimline stencils from STAMPlorations.   I have a card for you today using one of them:  Aperture.  I ink-blended four different Ranger Distress Oxide inks for my background -- Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord, Blueprint Sketch, and Tumbled Glass.  The stamped image is Dare2BArtzy's BEE-utiful.

I hope to have lots of fun this week using some of the other stencils from my recent purchase.

STAMPlorations CAS Challenge - Blue Sky Wishes

Here it is the first Thursday of the month and time for another STAMPlorations CAS challenge.  This month's optional color is Sky Blue.

I'm using images from STAMPlorations The Birds and the Blooms for my card, and color of my background cardstock is Soft Sky.  After stamping the bird, I drew the thin black line 1/2" in from all four sides and stamped the sentiment.  I thought it still needed something, so I added the three silver sequins.

STAMPlorations CAS Challenge - Silver or Gray

Today marks my first post as a guest designer for the STAMPlorations CAS challenge team.  I have not always been drawn to CAS cards but recently have become a big fan.  I do love the clean lines and lots of white space of CAS stamping.    The January challenge is Anything Goes: with an optional color choice of Silver or Gray.

For my card today, I used a stamp set called Smile.
