Last Christmas Card of the Season

I'm sharing with you today my last Christmas card for the season -- one which uses the Karen Burniston Rockin' Rectangle and an enlarged window on the front.  I had seen a card made by Francesca Florio on the Karen Burniston Pop-Up Peeps page on Facebook the other day, which I really liked.  She had a very large window on the front of her card, actually taking up almost the entire front.  I wanted to try my hand at a similar one.

I still had to make a card with the Three Wise Men for my neighbor (I always try to make her one with the Magi on it.)  So I thought a card with what looked like a church window would be the right choice.  I used some Spellbinders Arched Window dies.  I stamped an image from a Stampin' Up set from many years ago -- Holy Triptych -- and colored it with Copic markers.

To accommodate the largest Arched Window die, my card is 5" x 7".  After cutting out the opening, I used some gold stickers to dress up the front.   I placed a piece of acetate in the opening before adhering the patterned paper on the inside.

I added a few more stickers to the inside and popped up the sentiment, which is from My Favorite Things' Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set.

Here's a little video showing how the mechanism works.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

CCEE1950 -- Santa in the Window

For our final CCEE Stampers challenge of this year, Lynn asked the team members to create a card which has a window.  It was then our choice on whether we wanted to be peeking IN on Santa or peeking OUT at Santa.  I chose peeking IN.

I stamped a fun Christmas selfie from My Favorite Things and used my Karen Burniston Spinner Square die to create my card.

The team is taking the rest of the year off so that we can get ready to celebrate Christmas with our families.  We hope you will join us again in January.  Check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see some more Christmas windows.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!

CCEE1949 -- Big, Bold Christmas Statement

Lynn is the hostess for the CCEE Stampers for our two challenges in December.  This week she challenged us to create a holday card where a BIG and BOLD sentiment is the star on the front.  Karen Burniston has a wonderful big, bold Christmas sentiment, which I used on the front of my card.

I did, however, add lots more to the inside -- using the new Karen Burniston Parcel Pop-Up die, as well as a stamped Santa, a gingerbread man, and some Christmas packages.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more big and bold Christmas sentiments.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge -- SURPRISE!

The theme for this month's Karen Burniston Designer Challenge is "Surprise."  So naturally, I used the Surprise Ball Pop-Up for my card.  This is such a fun die.  I've been playing with this one since the day I got it.  I titled my card for this challenge "Outta This World," which is mentioned on the front.  I used some starry background paper and have my astronaut space walking.

The Surprise Ball Pop-Up can be used with either the Flap & Closure die or with a belly band, which is what I chose for mine.

I found a piece of free clipart on-line, showing the "accurate" flat world map.  It was just what I needed for my "world."

When you open the card, you can see how it was the perfect choice.

The rocket ship from the Rocket Pop-Up set added an "out-of-this-world" touch to the inside of the card.  Here's a close-up of the globe, where you can see how the clipart map really worked well.

Be sure to check out the Karen Burniston Pop-Up Peeps Facebook page for the surprise cards from the rest of the team.

Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" Challenge -- Any December Holiday

The Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" Challenge for December is to make a card for any December holiday.  The biggest holiday in December is obviously Christmas, so that's where I went.  I love making pop-up box cards, and I found a cute stamp set from Pink and Main to use for the elements.  Santa is checking his list to see who's been naughty and who's been nice.  Looks like you made the Nice list!   I've seen that several die companies have produced dies to make this particular style of card, but I still prefer doing it myself.

Check out the Scor-Pal blog for more December celebration.
