CCEE1647 - Pins and Needles Day

Happy Thanksgiving to the American CCEE stampers! 

For her final challenge for November, Frances tells the CCEE Stampers that Sunday, November 27th, is Pins and Needles Day, which commemorates the opening of an historical Broadway play called Pins and Needles -- in 1937.  She asked us to create cards with a sewing theme.  I pulled out an old sewing set called I'm in Stitches and my Sizzix Circle Flip Card die to create my card.

A new month brings a new hostess for the CCEE Stampers.  Joanne is our hostess for October, and her first challenge is celebrating Physician's Assistant's Day.  She asked us to make a get-well card.  I made a flip card.

Like my card yesterday, the one I made for the last day of the blog hop also was made using an Elizabeth Craft Designs die set, the Oval Pull Card. 

Here's the inside of the card.  To line up the scene on the front with the one on the inside, I first stamped the trees and the fisherman on the inside panel.  Then I mounted the black panel on the front oval, laid a piece of waxed paper over the entire card, then mounted the white oval with removable tape on top of the waxed paper.    Then I could line up the stamps (the trees and the fisherman) and stamp on the front.  The waxed paper protected the underlying panels.  I removed the waxed paper and adhered the white oval permanently on the black oval.

The MFP Stamp Shop sets used on this card were Get Reel and Tree Scene.

CCEE1524 Everything is Coming up Roses

Liz continues on as hostess for the CCEE Stampers Blog challenge.  As the rose is the flower for June, Liz asked us to use a rose or roses on our cards today.  I decided to make a flip card, using a Sizzix die.

After watching a video on Stephanie Barnard's website, I learned how to make a flip card with a hidden panel.

Card Maker/Sizzix Blog Hop

I  am a big fan of using die cuts on cards, so I was happy to learn that CardMaker magazine and Sizzix were partnering for this blog hop.  Sizzix very generously provided all the blog team members with products for the hop.  My cards today were all made using a fun Triplits set, Hello, Sunshine -- as well as a couple of other Sizzix die sets.  That happy little sun is just too fun!

The first card I have for you today is a center-step card on which I used some cloud patterned paper as well as both the sun and the chevron cloud from the set along with the shadows for each one.  In addition, I also have some strips made with another Sizzix Thinlits die set -- Borders.

I didn't include the sun on my second card, but I put that cute little happy face into the cloud for this get-well card.  The words are part of another Sizzix set -- the Circle Flip-Its Card #4.

My last card was the most fun to make.  I think flip cards are so creative, and I watched a video on Stephanie Barnard's website on how to add a "hidden panel" to one.  Again I used the Circle Flip-Its Card #4 for the base of my card, and the "Happy Birthday" greeting is from the Regal Stand-Up Card die set.

And, when you open up the hidden panel, this is what you get!

CCEE1508 - Moon

Sabrina mentioned that the month of February sometimes does not include a Full Moon.  The last time this happened was in 1999.  She asked the CCEE Stampers to make a card featuring the moon.  I decided to have a little fun with this challenge and stamped my moon on shrinkable plastic and make a charm out of it.
