CCEE2145 - Tag! You're It!

Kelli continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week and asked us to create some tags to get ready for the holidays.

Last year I bought a set of dies called Winter Bouquet from Honey Bee Stamps.  I used that die set to make these two tags.

C4C585 - Add an Embellishment . . . Tags

Today's Crazy4Challenges challenge is to use a tag as an embellishment or layer on your card.  One thing I like about digital stamps is that you can size them to whatever size you need -- big or small.  This cute little bee girl image from Paper Nest Dolls fits perfectly on my tag.  I added a few bee brads from Eyelet Outlet as well.

CCEE1838 Baby Cards

Maryann continues again this week as hostess for the CCEE Stampers and asked us to create a card using "baby" as our inspiration; for example, new baby, baby shower, grandbaby, baby animals or even just a baby-sized card.  I made a card which does not reflect the gender of the baby, so it could be used for both a baby shower or a new baby.   I pulled out a fun Karen Burniston die (Tag Book Pop-Up Card) as well as a CottageCutz die (Stork w/Baby), a Memory Box alphabet set and some stickers.

Tag Trio

Some time ago I bought some tags at Hobby Lobby and have yet to use them.  Today is the day I pulled them out to show off another one of the newly-released Mother's Day release at CottageCutz, Flowers for Mom.

I started by cutting all the die pieces from a scrap of white cardstock.

Because I wanted a variety of colors on my tags, I thought white would be the way to start.  Using many Copic markers, I colored all the pieces.

I constructed all three flower arrangements, using the die packaging as my guide.

I took out my three tags . . . 

. . . and using sponge daubers, I added some color around the edges of the three tags, matching the color of each pot/vase.

I strung some baker's twine through the holes of the tags and glued on the flower arrangements.  Here again are my three tags.

Christmas Tag Cards

For today's CottageCutz blog, I have created a project made with one of the new Christmas dies -- Christmas Tags.  BUT . . . instead of using the tags as they were intended, I thought it would be fun to make three small square cards with them.

First I cut the cardstock and patterned paper.  The card bases are 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored in half; and the patterned paper layers are 4" square.

I scored the cardstock in half and adhered the patterned paper to each one.

Then I cut the pieces using the Christmas Tags die.  The tags were cut from fun foam, and the small embellishment pieces were all cut from white cardstock and colored with markers -- except for the snowflakes, which were cut from silver paper.

To make adhering the small embellishment pieces easier, I ran them through my Xyron X sticker maker . . .

. . . then I constructed the tags.

Using the second largest Double-Stitched Circle die, I cut three colored circles, and using the second largest Nested Stitched Scallop Circle die, I cut three white circles.

All I had to do then was construct the circles, add foam dots to the undersides and adhere the tags.

I wanted to show that you can use dies for something other than their original purpose.  CottageCutz dies used on my cards are:

CCEE1735 Monochromatic and Die Cuts

Anne winds up her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week.  She told us that she once did a challenge on SCS, asking our fellow crafters to make a one-color card and using only die cuts (or punches).  She asked us to do the same.  I started off my month of CCEE tags with a Christmas tag, so I thought I would end the month with another one.

CCEE1734 Water Color

Anne really challenged me this month.  She asked the CCEE Stampers to make a background using water colors.  We could then finish our cards in whatever way we wished.  Watercolor is not my strong suit.  I made a simple background using watered down distress inks.  I did, however, thoroughly enjoy making the rest of my tag.

CCEE1733 Nautical

Anne continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week, and asked us to use a nautical theme on our cards.  Please don't look too closely to the text behind my nautical images.  I did it on the computer and wound up spelling John Masefield's name wrong.  My apologies to the poet!

CCEE1732 Insects

For her second challenge to the CCEE Stampers this month, Ann asked us to make a card using bees, dragonflies, any kind of inset.  She also asked us to add some Stickles to their wings (if they have wings).  My insects do have wings, but I added Wink of Stella to their wings.  I did, however, add Stickles -- but to the "glow" of my fireflies.

CCEE1731 Embossing Resist

A new month means a new hostess for the CCEE Stampers challenge.  Anne is our hostess this month, and her first challenge is to use any technique that involves embossing -- wet, dry, resist -- whatever appeals to us.  I chose Embossing Resist.  And I also decided that all of my CCEE Challenge projects will be tags this month.  I started off with a red and green Christmas tag.

CCEE1625 - Birds

Vicky Gould continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers and this week reminds us that she loves birds.  She said, "Let's use birds on our cards this week . . . Crazy Birds, Real Birds, Cartoon Birds . . . whatever trips your trigger!"  I recently bought a pad of tags from K & Company and thought I could use one of the tags as the background for my bird -- a cockatoo.

CCEE1526 Weddings

Liz wraps up the month of June for the CCEE Stampers with an Inspiration Challenge.  For our final challenge of the month,we were to make a card featuring a bridal couple or a wedding cake.  She gave us a Pinterest board to use for inspiration - www.Pinterest.com/aspecialday/creative-wedding-cakes  I may have fudged just a bit because I didn't make a card, I made a tag inspired by this wedding cake.

SCS Inspiration Challenge - Candle Pinterest Board

The Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers is my favorite one of the week.  For today's inspiration site, Audrie chose her Favorite Candles Pinterest Board.  What wonderful choices we had for inspiration -- so much so that I actually made two projects -- one card and one tag.

For my card, I chose this gorgeous candle which reminded me of hyacinths, so I used my new ODBD Hyacinth set to create a birthday card in the colors on the candle.

I stamped the image twice and cut out the center frame, which I popped up on foam dots.  I am entering this card in the Our Daily Bread Designs Anything Goes challenge.

For my tag, I chose these owl candles and used a new Elizabeth Craft Designs tag die called Tags & More 3 - Leaves.  I cut the tag out twice, once in dark green and once in white.   For the white one, I also used the leaves die at the top.

I love using googlie eyes on my owls.  It makes them look wiser, don't you think?
