CCEE2143 - Create a Scene

For her final CCEE Stampers challenge this month, Frances asked the team to create a card that features a scene of some type -- outside or inside.

Last month, one of my challenges to the team was to make a card inspired by a new technique they had seen, and my card was a Bay Window card.  I took that same technique, cutting actual windows in the front, to create my card for today's challenge.  I used several Karen Burniston dies to decorate my Christmas window -- the garland from the Street Lantern Pop-up, the tree and decorations from the Christmas Tree Pop-Stand, and the wreath from the Sleigh Pop-Up.

Merry Christmas

 Christmas is in two days, so this will be my final Christmas card for the year.  

I was curious to see if I could put the tree from the Karen Burniston Christmas Tree Pop Stand die set into the Woven Basket.  I didn't know if it would be top heavy -- but it is not!  After making the double Woven Basket, decorating it with one of the KB Border Blends and the stocking from the new Holiday Charms, I cut the pieces for the Christmas tree. I glued the two trunks to either side of one of the cross pieces of the Woven Basket and then decorated it.  I added some gifts from the Birthday Charms and the Sleigh Pop-Up sets.

And, as you can see from this photo, it will still lie flat if I decide to mail it.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Mini Pop-Ups

 The Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for December is to use the new Mini Pop-Up dies on a card of any theme.  Inasmuch as Christmas is right around the corner, it is almost a given that many of the cards for this challenge will be Christmas cards.  Mine is no exception.

I used the Sleigh Pop-Up on the front, pulled along by two reindeer from Christmas Animals.  The string of lights are from the new Holiday House.

When you open the card, you will find Santa and Mrs. Claus getting ready for Christmas.  I love the new Mini Pop-Up dies -- easy to use and the result is lots of fun.

Santa Riley & Friend

It may be June, but it's never too early to make a Christmas card.  Slimline cards are all the rage at the moment, and I for one have gotten right in line.  I've been experimenting with different ways to incorporate Karen Burniston's pop-up dies into the mix.  Today I used her Sleigh Pop-Up and some cute Riley & Company Dress-Up Riley stamps.

Do you remember playing with paper dolls when you were a kid?  That's the idea behind the Dress-Up Riley line.  The front of my card is all Riley and Sophie -- dressed up like Mr. & Mrs. Santa.  Sophie even has a sprig of holly in her hair.

Now, on the inside is Santa's sleigh, courtesy of Karen Burniston.

I used a strip of the same snowflake plaid as the sky on the front and glued down my sentiment.

I'm going to continue experimenting with different Karen Burniston pop-up dies with these fun slimline cards.  Be sure to keep an eye out for them!

CCEE1949 -- Big, Bold Christmas Statement

Lynn is the hostess for the CCEE Stampers for our two challenges in December.  This week she challenged us to create a holday card where a BIG and BOLD sentiment is the star on the front.  Karen Burniston has a wonderful big, bold Christmas sentiment, which I used on the front of my card.

I did, however, add lots more to the inside -- using the new Karen Burniston Parcel Pop-Up die, as well as a stamped Santa, a gingerbread man, and some Christmas packages.
