CCEE2113 Find a Rainbow Day

 Frances started her month-long stint as hostess for the CCEE Stampers with a fun challenge.  She told us that April 3rd is Find a Rainbow Day and asked us to include a rainbow of some type on our cards -- either a rainbow image or rainbow colors, whichever we preferred.

Some time ago I bought a die from Trinity Stamps which is perfect for a slimline card -- a big rainbow.  I added a few Paper Nest Dolls fairies for fun.  For the sentiment, I stamped it with a ColorBox multi-color stamp pad.

CCEE2046 - Dear Santa Letter Week

Christmas is right around the corner, and children will be writing their letters to Santa Claus soon.  Kelly informed the CCEE Stampers that the second week in November is Dear Santa Letter Week.  She wanted us to create a card showcasing a letter to Santa.

I'm not sure if you're on Santa's naughty list or his nice list, but he's holding somebody's long letter in his hand here.  He's also got some help from Mrs. Claus and one of his elves, all from a cute Pink and Main stamp set.

C4C554 - Slimline Cards

Today the Crazy4Challenges team revisits the popular slimline card.  Frances said, "Yes, I know we had this theme earlier in the year, but Slimline cards are fun and on-trend right now.  They are also addictive!  Which is why I created a Facebook Group dedicated to Slimline Cards called Slimline Card Addicts.  So this week, create a slimline card.  The most common sizes for Slimline cards are either 8 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches or 9 inches x 4 inches and will fit in a standard business-size envelope."

I recently purchased this Rainbow Builder die from Trinity Stamps, and I love it.  The sentiments are from Waffle Flower Stamps.

C4C551 - Shaker Cards

Apparently September is "Shake Month."  Technically, this relates to Milkshakes; however, for the Crazy4Challenges team is going to shake in a different way by creating shaker cards.  My shaker card is also a slimline card.

CCEE2036 Masculine Card

Frances takes over as hostess for the CCEE Stampers for September.  She told us that the 1st Sunday in September is Father's Day down in Australia, and our challenge this week is to make a masculine card.

Masculine cards are not always easy for me, but clocks seem to be a good choice of image for them.  I pulled out an old stamp set I haven't used in a long time to make my card.

CCEE2029 National Hot Dog Day

Continuing as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week, I reminded the team that yesterday (7/15) was National Hot Dog Day and asked them to make a card using something you would have at a picnic -- a hot dog, a hamburger, a checkered tablecloth, or maybe some ants.

I used every one of those suggestions on my card, using some brand-new dies from Karen Burniston, which will be available for pre-order today!

C4C542 - Summer Activities

Frances Byrne asked me to do a fill-in stint with the Crazy 4 Challenges team for the next couple of months.  Today's challenge was to make a card or project inspired by a favorite summer activity -- beach, pool, travel, picnics, etc., etc., etc.  I live in Florida and summer (actually year-round) recreation usually involves water.

As you may have noticed, I've been obsessed with slimline cards lately, so my card today was made with a couple of Trinity Stamps slimline dies.  I used two of their landscape dies to make stencils for the beach/ocean line and the clouds.  The stamp was in a free stamp set from one of those British cardmaking magazines.  Coloring of the background was done with distress oxide inks.

C4C514 - Slimline Cards

I'm continuing as guest designer for the Crazy4Challenges blog this week.  Slimline Cards seem to be very popular at present, especially with a few companies releasing dies especially for the use of creating this style of card.  For our challenge this week, create a Slimline card.  A Slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" and should fit into a standard business-sized envelope.  Fortunately, I had just ordered some slimline dies from Trinity Stamps and used two of the sets on my card.   I had purchased those cute prehistoric critters from Lawn Fawn last year, and this is the first time I've used them.
