CCEE2222 World Oceans Day

Lynn's challenge for the CCEE Stampers this week is based on the fact that yesterday was World Oceans Day.  She asked us to celebrate the oceans of the world with a nautical-themed project of our choice.  Winds, waves, boats, birds:  anything related to oceans will do.

I recently watched a youtube video that Julie Creek (of Creek Bank Creations) did in which she made a stand-up mermaid card.  Although I didn't have many of the items she used on her card, I was able to recreate a similar one using supplies I had in my craft room.  The only Creek Bank Creations item I had was the ocean edges die.  My mermaids are from Paper Nest Dolls; the fish are from LDRS, the sentiment is from Mama Elephant, and the seaweed & coral are dies from CottageCutz.  Everything did come together quite well.

As you can see from the next photo, it is a 3-dimentional stand-up card.

CCEE2133 - Photography Day

Apparently today is Photography Day.  For our challenge this week, Frances asked the CCEE Stampers to include something on our cards that is photographic-related -- a photo/photos; images of photos, cameras, etc.

One of my favorite Karen Burniston dies is the Photo Collage, and it was the perfect choice for today's challenge.  I combined it with two separate stamp sets -- Paper Nest Dolls Essential Workers and LDRS' Today's Heroes.  The camera is from Hampton Arts.

CCEE2117 - Superhero Day

Frances ends up her April CCEE Stampers challenges by telling us that yesterday (April 28th) was Superhero Day.  For our challenge this week, we were to include a superhero or two on our cards this week.  We could interpret "Superhero" any way we'd like.

I used a new Karen Burniston die to make my card this week.  It's called the Waterfall Card, and it allows you to make this cute waterfall with very little trouble.  Over the past year we've come to consider many different people as "superheroes," as depicted in this cute LDRS Today's Heroes stamp set.

I love how this card opens.

CCEE2042 Dictionary Day

For our CCEE Stampers challenge this week, Frances asked us to create a card that includes words  -- maybe a scripty word background either stamped or using patterned papers, large focal sentiment, speech bubbles with words inside, etc.

I created my background using Word and repeating the sentiment to cover the entire card.  I then added a large word die-cut and cupcake from Karen Burniston to complete it.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see how the rest of the team handled this interesting challenge.
