CCEE1416 - Favorite Movie or Movie Star

Kathy's challenge this week over on the CCEE Stampers Blog was to make a card that reflects your very favorite movie or movie star.  My very favorite movie series (and books) is the Lord of the Rings series.  I've read all three books in the trilogy at least three times (not having discovered it until I was 60 years old in 2001 when the first movie was released).  And I can't count the number of times I have watched the movies.  In fact, my BFF and I went to an all-day Lord of the Rings Marathon at our local movie theater last year.  Even though my favorite character in the books/movies is Aragorn, the only stamp I had that would work for this challenge was a wizard, which we can pretend is Gandalf.  BTW, I have a framed photograph of Aragorn, Legolas, and Gandalf -- signed by Sir Ian McKellan!  My former boss brought it back from Comic-Con for me about six years ago.   Anyway, here's my card:

What's your favorite movie?  Would you like to make a card depicting it?  Then join us over on the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Again, I'm not a part of the official Blog Hop; but thanks for visiting my blog today.   For the rest of the Blog Hop I have made a standard card and a Joy Fold card for each set.  For my standard card, I used a stencil for the background and popped up my cute little clock as well as the sentiment panel.

The Joy Fold card is done in just black and white, with a bit of gray patterned paper.

Here's the inside:

I'm sure the rest of the team has lots of inspiration for you; be sure to check them out.

I'm not an official part of the Blog Hop today, but I did make something to show you.  I decided that, rather than use today's sets as purely paper dolls, I would make some cards using a fun fold that I really like, the Tri-Shutter Card -- one for each set.  Here they are:

Now, make sure you check out the official Blog Hop and don't forget to comment often for a chance to win one of this month's release sets.

CCEE1414 - Three Stamps

Kathy Bradley is starting her month as hostess of the CCEE Stampers Blog with a great challenge -- use three different stamps/digital images on your card -- and sentiments don't count.  I used images from a couple of oriental stamp sets from Mark's Finest Papers (one is a sneak peek of a soon-to-be-released set) for my card.

Do you like to put more than one image on your cards?  If so, join in on the fun over on the CCEE Stampers blog.

Stamps:  Mark's Finest Papers - Calm and Wisdom, Lanterns
Paper:  Stampin' Up Summer Sun; Mark's Finest Papers - Black Linen, Snow Storm Smooth
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  Copic markers, Foam pop dots

Speedy TV Tutorial Time Challenge - Sponged Sunrays

I was the hostess for this week's Tutorial Time challenge on Speedy TV, and I challenged the rest of the team to try a technique I love -- sponged sunrays.  A former member of the Mark's Finest Papers design team wrote a tutorial for Speedy TV explaining how to do it, and I recently updated it with current MFP images. Here's my card:

Be sure to check out the challenge on Speedy TV and see what the rest of the team has done with this technique.  We'd love for you to try it and link up your card for a chance to win a free stamp set.
