CCEE2238 National Coffee Day

Kelly's final CCEE Stampers challenge this week is celebrating National Coffee Day.  She considers it a definite holiday in her eyes!  Not so with me.  I'm not a coffee drinker, but I like to make coffee-related cards for the rest of my family.  The card I made today is actually a gift card holder -- and it will be given to someone at Christmas.

As you can see, the gift card slips in behind the coffee cup.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog for more coffee inspiration.

CCEE2237 First Day of Autumn

Kelly continues her gig as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week by telling us that today is the first day of Autumn.  Her challenge was simple -- create a fall themed card.

I used one of the brand-new dies from Karen Burniston for my card -- the Label Charm Pop-Up.  I love this die set and have been making many cards with it since I received it.  Using some pretty fall papers and Karen's Autumn Elements die set, here is what I made to celebrate the beginning of fall..

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more fall inspiration.

Riley & Company STAMPtember Collaboration

Riley & Company is again collaborating with Simon Says Stamps for STAMPtember.  The stamp set is called It's Your Day.  Members of the Karen Burniston Design Team have made some fun cards using this stamp set.

I've made two cards with this set along with some Karen Burniston dies.  The first one is a birthday card with lots of balloons.

On the inside are more balloons and the Karen Burniston Cake Pop-Up set, along with the Happy Birthday w/Shadow dies and Crosshatch Rectangle set.

My second card is a get-well card using the Landscape Rectangle Accordion die, some pretty plaid paper, and the Get Well Charms.

STAMPtember is always a lot of fun.  Some of the other Karen Burniston Design Team members have mae cards using this set as well.  I'm sure you can find them on the Karen Burniston Pop-Up Peeps page on Facebook.

CCEE2236 - International Dot Day

Kelly's challenge for the CCEE Stampers this week is to celebrate International Dot Day (today) by making a card with a circle, polka dots, or anything round.

As I tend to make Christmas cards all year 'round (get it -- "round"), my card is a Christmas card using a very cool die -- Sugar Pea Designs' interlocking circles.

And I even used some Christmas paper with red and green circles for the background.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see how the rest of the team handled this challenge.

CCEE2235 - 18th Birthday

Kelly informed the CCEE Stampers that tomorrow is her son's 18th birthday and asked us to make a masculine birthday card -- with a little twist.  We are to use 1 or 8 of anything on our cards.

Happy Birthday to Kelly's son.  My card has 8 Phillips-head screws -- four on the front and four inside.

My card is made with the brand-new Karen Burniston Label Charm Pop-Up and previously released Tool Charms and Word Set 2 - Birthday.  The cute sentiment on the front panel is from an old Darcie's set Handy Man.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more birthday wishes to Kelly's son.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Just . . .

This month's Karen Burniston Designer Challenge is "Just . . . ,"  We were to create a card with a theme of "just . . . something."  This challenge is the perfect opportunity to use the brand-new word set -- Just Because.

I'm wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving .  . . "just" a bit early.  I used the new set, along with the Landscape Rectangle Accordion (a new favorite of mine), Autumn Elements, Feathered Animals, and a few different word sets.  I did a bit of "word surgery" on the front.  Word Set 2 - Birthday has the word "wish" but not wishing.  So I cut the "ing" from "thinking" in Word Set 1 - Greetings and added it to the "wish to create my sentiment.

The inside of my card has all sorts of autumn/Thanksgiving images -- even a pumpkin pie!

A couple of close-up photos of the inside spread of my card gives you a better look at all the Thanksgiving elements.

Karen Burniston New Release Blog Hop

 Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our Karen Burniston Products - KB Riley LLC September Release Blog Hop. The Design Team have come together with Karen today for a fun blog hop to celebrate the release of 13 new dies. Sneak peeks of the new release started last week, and the dies are available to order NOW!

This release includes:
  • 1 new charm die set
  • 1 new word set
  • 1 new Halloween die set
  • 2 new Halloween Pattern Plates
  • 2 new pop-up die sets
  • 2 new pop-up extra sets to coordinate with one of the new die sets
  • 1 new "Ball" Add-ons set
  • 3 new "Ball" Double-Ups Sets
Dies are available to order now on the website.
For my card, I chose the Fireplace Pop-up along with the two add-on sets.   The front of the card is fairly simple, with just the Merry Christmas with Shadow and one of the dies from the Fireplace Extras 1 (Christmas set), the candles.

The inside is where all the fun happens.  I love this fireplace, reminds me of an old-fashioned Christmas scene.  The fireplace is decorated with lots of pieces from the Fireplace Extras (both 1 and 2).  I especially like the fireplace tools (set 1) and log basket (set 2).   Along the top is the swag from Karen's Street Lantern Pop-Up.

A fun addition to the fireplace is the addition of EZ Lights behind the fire and the candles.

Final Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek

I tried a little experiment for my post today.  I made two slimline Halloween cards -- one regular size and the other a mini.  As you can see, they are the same card -- just two different sizes.  On the front is the Slim Pattern Plate - Spiders.  The smaller card has a strip of black on each end, using one of the Border Blends - Trims.  The larger one uses the same pattern plate, but with an additional couple of rows of spiders added.

The insides of the cards are exactly the same, just a bit more room at the edges of the regular-size card.  I used all three elements of the Spider and Bat set, along with a woven strip of black and orange Border Blends - Trim.  I cut one of the spiders from the pattern plate and placed him in the small rectangle where you can sign your name.

Tomorrow is the big day.  You'll be able to order all of the new dies on Karen's website then.

Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peeks Day 6

Today's sneak peek set is a word set, Word Set 15 - Just Because.  I have a relatively quick, simple card using this set.  I saw this layout on a card on Pinterest, and I really like it.  My sentiment is a play on words (or numbers).

Another card made with this set is a bit more creative -- using the new Label Charm Pop-Up as well.  I did a bit of "word surgery" on the sentiment, cutting the "because" apart and adding an extra "e."  I added a few very small black pearls in several places.

The panels on the inside are decorated with pieces from the previously released Flutter Charms set.  Along the bottom is one of the Border Blends - Trims.

Only two more days until these new dies are available for purchase.

Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek - Day 5

As promised earlier in the week, I've got a couple more Halloween cards to share with you today.  The first one is made with the new Label Charm Pop-Up die.   In addition, another new die is the Slim Pattern Plate - Bats on the front, as well as the sentiment from Halloween Elements and a frame made using two dies from Short Rectangles - Crosshatch.

Inside are a couple of new dies as well - the Skeleton and Bat.  Also included in that set is a cat.

I love that skeleton so much that I put two of them on this double-wide Woven Basket card.

I also included both the bat and the cat from the Skeleton and Bat set, as well as the Happy Halloween with Shadow.  My haunted house in the background was made with the Holiday House, decorated with pieces from the Haunted Tiny House set.

Don't forget:  dies from this new release will be available for purchase on Monday!

CCEE2234 Intl. Toy Testing Day & Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek Day 4

Kelly Santi started her month-long stint as hostess for the CCEE Stampers challenge by telling us that today is International Toy Testing Day.  She asked us to make a card with a toy/toys on them.  Think Christmas cards and Santa's workshop, too.

Many years ago I purchased some Art Impressions Doors & Windows stamps.  The fun part of this series is that there are many add-on sets to create different themes, one of which was a Christmas Toy Shop.  I combined the Art Impressions stamps with a set of stamps/dies from Pink & Main to create this delightful toy store.

AND, when you go into the store (by opening the card) you'll find a couple of dies from the new Karen Burniston release, which will be available next Monday.  The fireplace is actually a pop-up, but I had wanted to make a card with a flat fireplace.  This was my opportunity.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog for more toy cards -- and make sure you check out the new dies from Karen Burniston.

Scor-Pal "More Than One Score"

It's time for the Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" challenge again.  September is back-to-school month for many children.  I recently saw directions for a fun fold card and thought I could use it for my card this month.  "Back to School" means books!  I used several stamp and die sets from Sugar Pea Designs to make my card.
