Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek Day 3

What I like about Karen Burniston's dies is that they are, as Karen has said, backward compatible, meaning that new dies coordinate with old dies.  One of the previously released dies was the Triple Platform Pop-up, which is a very fun die.  I have combined that with the new Movie Night Charms for my sneak peek today.

The new dies are on the front of my card, along with the Postage Pop-up panel.  I decorated the Paper People with some Tiny Accessory charms to make them look they're from a western movie.

Then, on the inside, is the Triple Platform Pop-up decorated with the Popcorn die and sentiments from the Movie Night clear stamp sentiments.  The clapboard and movie tickets are also part of the Movie Night Charms set.

Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek - Day 1

It's goody time again -- a new release from Karen Burniston.  Twelve new dies!!!  

It's been pretty chilly here in Florida last month, but warm weather is upon us again.  One of the new dies (Tiny Accessories 4) has some fun things to play with in the water.  Karen's animals are having a splashing good time with them.  The hippo is floating around the pool on the new flamingo floatie . . . 

. . . and he invited his friends the giraffe and the elephant to go scuba diving with him.

They had a grand day!

The design team has been having such fun playing with these new dies.  You'll be seeing sneak peeks from everyone during the rest of the week.  And our Blog Hop is on Monday.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Jack-O-Lanterns

It's time again for the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge, and this month's theme is JACK-O-LANTERN.  How appropriate -- with Halloween right around the corner.  I pulled out several Karen Burniston Halloween sets to decorate my card, a slimline card featuring the Little Labels Pop-Up set.

The front of my card is relatively simple, with a Jack-o-lantern made with the pumpkin from the Autumn Elements set with the face cut with one of the dies in Halloween Elements.

But the inside is a bit less simple.  I love that skeleton from the Skeleton & Bat set, dressed up with a top hat and bow tie.  I used two of the brand-new Halloween Borders set to span the card.

 You'll be seeing more of those Halloween Borders.  I love them!

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge -- Holiday House

For this month's Designer Challenge, Karen asked each of us to use the Holiday House set.  As Halloween is right around the corner, I chose to make a Halloween slimline card using this die.  Karen has several Halloween-themed dies, so I had a lot of dies from which to choose to make my spooky scene.

For my scene, I started with gray cardstock and sponged some Hickory Smoke ink around the sides and top to give the sky a bit of depth.

Inside the card I decorated the Little Twist Panel twice with some spooky images from the various Halloween sets.

Beach Days

One of the new Karen Burniston dies is the Purse Pop-Up, and  I've created several cards using this die.  Did you ever wake up in the middle of the night, can't go back to sleep, and a card design pops into your head?  I'm sure we've all done that.  My card today is the result of one such middle-of-the-night occasion.  I thought the purse would make a cute beach bag.  So, using several other KB dies (Beach Charms, Tiny Accessories, Crosshatch Rectangles, Natures Edges, Border Blends and Tropical Scene), I created this card.

I'm still trying to think of more ways to use this cute Purse Pop-Up.

CCEE1948 -- Movember

Frances reminded the CCEE Stampers that November is also known as Movember, which is a time to celebrate and raise funds for male issues.  For our challenge this week, she asked us to include a Moustache (Mo) on our card in some way.

I was very limited in my choices for a mustache.  I finally found an embossing folder in my stash (or 'stache, if you will) that would work.

Designer Challenge - Fun on the Farm

This month's Karen Burniston Designer Challenge is "Fun on the Farm."  The re-release of Karen's Barn Pop-Stand die is exciting.  Along with the Barn, there are several other farm-related sets -- animals and scenery.

I used the Barn Pop-Stand for my card, but I didn't make a Pop-Up card, per se.  I like to make fancy fold cards, and one of my favorites is the Z-Box Pop-Up.   I cut out and assembled the barn and placed it on the back panel.  Then I added the animals to the front and the box.

I decided to show the various farm animals having fun -- playing dress-up.   We've got Mr. and Mrs. Pig all dressed up, looking like they're ready to go to dinner . . .

. . . Superhero Goat ready to save the world . . .

. . . and Mr. Turkey playing pirate.

The other animals are also in various garb -- cowboys, farmers, and more.

This challenge was named correctly -- it was definitely "fun on the farm."

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge -- Tiny Accessories

The Karen Burniston Designer Challenge this month is to create a card of any theme but use some of the dies from Tiny Accessories 1 and/or Tiny Accessories 2.  These are two fun die sets!

As Easter is right around the corner, I decided to have an Easter Parade, of sorts, on a Fancy Label Accordion card.  I chose some of Karen's adorable animals and dressed them up for Easter.  I actually took the turkey from Feathered Animals and made him look like a peacock to start the parade.

When you open the card, you will see three lovely couples all dressed up and ready to party.

Aren't they so very fashionable?
