CCEE2203 - Punch the Clock Day

For my final CCEE Challenge for January I informed the team that today is Punch the Clock Day.  I challenged them to put something time-related on their cards (a clock, a watch, a calendar, etc.)  If they didn't have any of those things, they could make a birthday card -- that's time-related.

I had to look deep into my supplies to find a clock, and I finally found this embossing folder.  I built the little scene in Word using individual digital images from the Paper Nest Dolls set called Build Your Nest.  The sentiment is from a very old stamp set from my days on the design team for Mark's Finest Papers.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more "timely" designs!

I've used several of the new sets for my shaker card today -- the Good Luck Charms . . .

. . . the Mail Box Pop-Up as well as the Happy St. Patrick's Day sentiment and shadow.

The leprechaun on the front of my card was made using the Santa & Gnome set, modifying him into a leprechaun. I trimmed the beard just a bit. The fun part of my card is that mail box, the door of which opens and the flag raises as you open the card. And I love those cute little envelopes!

One Last Karen Burniston Sneak Peek

Valentine's Day is right around the corner.  Several of the new Karen Burniston dies lend themselves to this holiday of love quite nicely.  I've got a mini slimline card today, showing off the new Mailbox Pop-Up and one of the new sentiments -- Sending Love.

That cute little monkey is also new, half of the Monkey and Lion die set.

This is the last of my sneak peeks, but be sure to check out our Blog Hop on Monday.  You'll get several chances to win a $25 gift certificate to the Karen Burniston web store by commenting on each of the team's blogs.

Another Sneak Peek

I must say that I've been having a great time creating St. Patrick's Day cards with some of the new dies from Karen Burniston, and I've got another one today.  And I've got another one today, but this mini slimline one uses the Heart Collage Pop-up as well as the St. Patrick's Day dies.  I love how you can convert the Gnome & Santa into a leprechaun using the hat from the Good Luck Charms and changing the colors of his hair and clothes.

In addition to the Heart Collage Pop-Up (using some of the Good Luck Charms instead of the hearts) I have some labels from both the Paper Frames Pop-Up and the Crosshatch - Labels, as well as one of the Border Blends on the inside.

This is such a fun release.  The dies will be available to order next week.  And be sure to check out our blog hop on Monday.

CCEE2202 - Penguin Awareness Day

Today is Penguin Awareness Day.  I challenged the CCEE Stampers to put a penguin or two on their cards.  My card has three!

I've recently become a fan of Whimsy Stamps' slimline paper packs, and the one I used on my card today is from a pack called Frozen. This is a mini-slimline card, so I cut down the paper to fit the 3 1/2" x 6 1.2" card. The Paper Nest Dolls penguins look right at home on those ice floes.

When you open the card, there's a little surprise.  The penguins jumped off the ice floes onto a a snow bank and have popped up on the Karen Burniston Little Labels Pop-Up die.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more Penguin Fun!

Karen Burniston Sneak Peek - Day 3

Another one of Karen Burniston's new dies being released next week is the Heart Collage Pop-Up.  This is very similar to her previously-released Photo Collage Pop-Up (which I love), but it is smaller and will fit in a slimline card.  There are two add-ons that can be used with the Heart Collage -- the Butterfly Add-on and the Balloon Add-on.  My card is using the Butterfly Add-on, as well as the Happy Birthday and Shadow.

You have to watch any catch points, but this is a really fun die to use.

Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek -- Day 2

Another one of the new dies from Karen Burniston is a clever Mail Box Pop-Up.  The sentiment on the front of my card was computer-generated, but those cute little envelopes are part of this die set.

The clever part of this interactive die is that, when you open the card, the door to the mailbox opens and the flag pops up.

Get ready for our Blog Hop next Monday.  You'll have 7 chances to win a $25 gift certificate to the Karen Burniston web store!

Karen Burniston Sneak Peek - Day 1

Good news!  There's a new release coming from Karen Burniston -- 8 new dies!

The first sets I played with were the Good Luck Charms and the Happy St. Patrick's Day sentiment and shadow.

I added the charms to the Oval Pop-Up with some jump rings I had in my stash.

I'm sure my Irish ancestors were happy to see these dies -- I know I was!

New Year -- New Things

It's the first CCEE Stampers challenge of 2022.  It's a brand-new year, and I challenged the team to use something brand-new or something they've never used before on their cards.  It could be a stamp, a die, or even a technique.

I used something I just got (the die that cut the sentiment, which is also part of that combo stamp/die set) and something I've had for a while but never used before (the Paper Nest Dolls Dreamcatcher Ellie stamp).

On the inside of the card is a popped up Dreamcatcher mounted on the Karen Burniston Katherine Label Pop-Up.  This pop-up die is so versatile and makes a great statement.

I have a friend who loves anything Native American.  Her birthday is next month, so I think she will be the recipient of my card.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more new stuff.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Birthday Cake

It's time for the first Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for 2022.  The theme for this month's challenge is "Birthday Cake" -- make a birthday card featuring a cake or cupcake.  I chose to feature a cupcake from the Cupcake Pop-Up die on the front of my Circle Tag Book, adding Happy Birthday from Word Set 2 - Birthday.

After cutting the polka-dot paper with the outside tag die, I drew a pencil line along the inside of the die and cut off the edge -- thereby making a "matted" piece.

I cut four cupcakes from the Birthday Charms set for my circle pop-ups.  I added a splash of black to my card to go along with all the pink by cutting black "stripes" and using black ribbon.

I hope you decide to play along with the design team this month.  You always need a birthday card, and cupcakes make it so much fun!
