CCEE2135 -- Honey Month

I'm the hostess for the CCEE Stampers this month, and for my first challenge I told the team that September is Honey Month.  I asked them to include something related to honey on their cards -- bees, honeycombs, beehives. . . .

One of my favorite stamp companies is Honey Bee Stamps.  They always put something extra in your order, and recently the insert was a little postcard to color with a honey pot on it.  So I used that on my card . . . not on the front, but on the inside.  The front of my card has a cute Honey Bee Stamps bee.

Inside the card, I used a Karen Burniston mini pop mechanism to make the honey pot stand out.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see how the team handled my challenge.

Karen Burniston Sneak Peek - Day 6

My Karen Burniston sneak peek card today uses one of the dies I showed you earlier this week -- the Slim Flaps & Frames.  BUT it's used just a little differently this time.  Karen "challenged" anyone on the team to make a card using this set, but "fusing" the two center flaps together.  Not one to back down from a challenge, I gave it a go.  I had a pad of really pretty fairy paper on my shelf and knew it would be perfect for this card.

On the inside I also used the Tiny House Pop-Up with the Mushroom House add-on pieces.

The little cardinals sitting on the fence (from the Farm Edges set) are part of the new Tiny Trees Pop-Up die.

The little spiral is one of the dies from the Mini Pop-Ups set, and the fairy is from the Backyard Charms set.

I've got one more sneak peek for you tomorrow.  I hope you'll stop back to see it.

Karen Burniston Sneak Peek - Day 4

Karen Burniston's pivot panel dies are very popular.  She has a new one with this release -- the Flower Pivot Panel.  It makes a great Mother's Day card, so I included the new Happy Mother's Day die (with a shadow) on the front.

I took my color choices for the flowers from that gorgeous Lawn Fawn patterned paper.  It's from a paper pad called "Spring Fling."

One of the smaller die sets from this release is the Picnic Elements.  This is such a cute little set -- it even has ants!   I made a mini slimline card using it.

We still have a couple more days of sneak peeks until you can start ordering your dies on April 19th.  I've got a few more cards left to show you before that date.  I hope you stop back to take a look.

Karen Burniston Sneak Peek - Day 3

And the fun continues . . . .   Day 3 of the Karen Burniston new release.  Today I have a slimline card -- but a very special one.  It's using one of the new dies called Slim Flaps & Frames.  Oh, the "Welcome" is also new and has a shadow die as well.

Each one of those four flaps is held down using a tiny magnet.  They open individually to reveal the inside of the card.   The Tiny Trees are back today.

You can see another "add-on" set here as well.  Tiny Fruit contains dies for oranges, lemons, cherries, apples, pears, and peaches.  As this is a "Florida" card, I used the oranges, lemons, and colored the lemons green for limes.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing the cards I've shown so far this week.  I've got a few more to show you the rest of the week as well.  I hope you'll come back again.

CCEE2109 - Old Stuff Day

Frances starts her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers with a good challenge.  She says:  "Apparently the 2nd of March was Old Stuff Day.  For our challenge this week, let's combine something older (stamps, dies, etc.) with something newish."  Whenever I have to use "something old," I always go back to the very first Stampin' Up stamp set I ever bought -- Fishy Friends.  My "something newish" is not a brand-new set (it's from 2018), but it's new to me and the first time it's seen ink.

This mermaid from Hero Arts is my newish item.  It is popped up on a CottageCutz rock attached to a Karen Burniston Mini Pop-Up die, surrounded by waves from KB Tropical Scene.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see how the rest of the team handled this old/new challenge.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge -- Black, White and a Pop of ?

It's Karen Burniston Designer Challenge Day, and Karen had a cool challenge for us this month.    We were to make a card of any theme that is primarily black and white, with just a pop of color.  I had a cyberfriend (Joanne Gryzlak) who died several years ago.  Her favorite color combination for cards was black/white/red, so I made my card in her honor today.

Years ago, when the book series/movies of Twilight were very popular, I bought some patterned paper in red/white/black to make Twilight-related cards.  I still had some of it in my stash and thought it would be perfect for my card.  I pulled out several Karen Burniston dies:  Long Rectangles - Crosshatch; Circles Crosshatch; Cupcake Pop-Up, Word Set 2 - Birthday, Mini Pop-Ups and Happy Birthday.

I "met" Joanne Gryzlak on Splitcoaststampers many, many years ago and have been on several design teams with her over the years.  In fact, fellow Karen Burniston-DT member, Frances Byrne, was also on a team with us.  It's funny how someone you never met in real life can become your friend through the internet.  I miss her creativity.

CCEE2104 - Warm and Cozy

Lynn finishes up her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers with a good challenge.  She said:  Many of us are experiencing very cold days during late January.  Feature on your design something that makes you feel warm and cozy even on the coldest of winter days.  It doesn't get quite as cold in Florida as it does in some parts of the country, but we do get some cold days.  The design on the front of my card was made with stencils (STAMPlorations and Honey Bee Stamps), and the fireplace on the inside is from Honey Bee Stamps as well.  It pops up using a Mini Pop-Up die from Karen Burniston.

A nice fire in the fireplace always makes me feel warm and cozy.  Visit the CCEE Stampers blog to see what warms up the rest of the team.

CCEE2102 - National Dress-Up Your Pet Day

Lynn continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week and has a challenge related to a "day" I've never heard of before -- National Dress Up Your Pet Day.  In honor of this grand occasion, we are to feature an animal of any kind, dressed up in the clothing of your choice.  Add a fun sentiment to cheer up an animal lover's day.  Brownie points if you share a picture of your pet dressed to celebrate on your blog today!

No brownie points for me -- I don't have a pet.  But I did dress up Riley the Moose as a Happy Camper, toasting a marshmallow over the fire.

Inside the card shows his camper, along with a lantern.  These two images are popped up using Karen Burniston's Mini Pop-Ups.  I included a small oval panel on which to add a personal message.

Be sure to check out some more dressed-up animals on the CCEE Stampers blog.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Mini Pop-Ups

The Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for December is to use the new Mini Pop-Up dies on a card of any theme.  Inasmuch as Christmas is right around the corner, it is almost a given that many of the cards for this challenge will be Christmas cards.  Mine is no exception.

I used the Sleigh Pop-Up on the front, pulled along by two reindeer from Christmas Animals.  The string of lights are from the new Holiday House.

When you open the card, you will find Santa and Mrs. Claus getting ready for Christmas.  I love the new Mini Pop-Up dies -- easy to use and the result is lots of fun.

Here is a close-up so you can see how the Mini Pop-Up work.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I hope I have provided some inspiration for you.
