Silly Shells Featured June 22

Please hop along with us!  You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets!  Just comment on the blogs listed below (don't forget this one) each day for more chances to win!  (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day!  The names are drawn randomly!)  All four winners will be announced on June 23, 2012 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog.  You can go back and comment if you missed a day.  (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!)  The deadline for commenting is 11PM EST on Friday June 22, 2012.

My first card today is doing double duty.  In addition to featuring today's MFP set, Island Life, it is also for this week's CCEE challenge as presented by Kathy Bradley (another MFP design team member), who wanted us to make the "dreaded masculine card," as she called it.   I used the lighthouse image for this card, as well as two of the small images from the MFP Silhouette Mini Selections (the fishermen and the birds).  The sky is sponged with some Tim Holtz distress inks and the rest of the card is colored with Copic markers.  I used a Spellbinders Pennant die for the sentiment.

Even though my second card has three layers, I'm still considering it a CAS card.  It is a very serene scene, colored with Copic markers.  I sponged the clouds using a scallop circle diecut and distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Make sure you check out the rest of the team's blogs and comment for another chance to win a free stamp set.  Here's the entire team:  Lois (that's me), VickyAnnePat G.Karen H.Patty P.MaryMarilynnPamDebbieNancyBonnieKathyBrendaToniTangii, The Thrifty StamperSueKelliJanineTammyleeJanis L.Mark's Finest Papers

I am so completely impressed with your cards. They are real beauties with all the details. Love the first with the fisherman and the colors on the second are some of my fave colors.

I can't decide which card I like best. Both are so great and so different. I might have to choose the first one because it is so bold. Great job!

What beauties these are Lois. One so soft, and the other with bright masculine colors. Great work, as always!

Like the nautical feel of these cards. The mini fishing stamp works well with the lighthouse. I like all things Lighthouse. Just entered the Summer challenge again since I so want to win the Lighthouse stamp set being offered to challenge winner. Have visited several Lighthouses. One time when visiting the Lighthouse on TyBee Island off the coast of Savannah, GA the power went out while we were walking up the steps of the lighthouse. They did not charge us admission since they had no power to run our credit card thru and considered the no power a free day.

1st card - I love the bright colors! I also love the strip of red on the lighthouse and that you used the birds and fish guys.
2nd card - thank you for telling me how you made those clouds. I was wondering! Gorgeous!

Another one of your beautiful lighthouse cards! I must admit that I thought the nautical theme last week was perfect to carry on into the masculine theme. Love the way you've added the fishermen, too. The second one reminds me more of Greece.

Lois--both of these cards are wonderful, but I especially like the first one!!! Your coloring is amazing! I also loved your cards from yesterday, espcially the first CAS one with the sewing machine! Sorry that I didn't get to comment last night, but I was on the phone w/my BFF. Her dog is sick and she was really upset. Great job with all of these cards! TFS
