Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek - Day 3
Another one of the new die sets from Karen Burniston is an add-on to a previously released set, the Lorna Label Pop-up. This one, Just a Note Lorna Add-ons, cuts a sentiment into the label.
And did you notice those stamped sentiments? They are from two new coordinating sentiments stamp sets being released.

Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek - Day 2
Today's sneak peek from the new Karen Burniston release is a card made with the new Piano Keys Pop-up. I am not a musician, but I found this new die such fun.
I like mini slimline cards, and the piano keys fit perfectly in a mini slimline. On the front of my card are images from another new set, Music Charms, and one of the new stamp sets, Music Sentiments.
When making a full-sized slimline card, you just have to make an additional set of keys and mount them both on the inside of your card. Later in the week, I'll have an example of this.
Thanks again for visiting my blog. I'll have more sneak peeks as the week progresses.

Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek - Day 1
Karen Burnison new release time is always exciting, and this week is no exception. We've got 12 new dies to preview this week, all of them so much fun. I'm going to start my sneak peeks with a bang! Have you ever made an explosion box? That's what I have for you today. The new dies I'm using are the Boat Pop-up along with the Pirate Ship Add-ons and Pirate Borders.
I covered my box with some nautical looking blue paper, adding a couple of the Pirate Borders to the box and the lid.
When you remove the lid, out pops the pirate ship. The dies included in this set are so appropriate to a pirate ship -- skull & crossbones, flags, swords.
Did you see that sentiment on the back panel? Well, surprise, surprise -- Karen Burniston has added stamps to her repertoire, which coordinate with the theme of the die sets. There are actually five stamp sets in this release. How fun is that?
Here's a short video showing how the action happens.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge -- Borders, Borders, Borders
It's that time again -- time for the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge. This month our challenge was to use one or more of the border dies on our card.
Even though summer has not officially arrived, we've been having summer-like weather for quite a while. I decided to use a summery Florida theme for my card. I love the shape of the Label Charm Pop-up and the room you have for a sentiment on the first panel. Some time ago, Karen Burniston gave each of the Design Team members a couple of Echo Park 12 x 12 paper pads to incorporate into our designs. The background paper I used was in one of them (Dive into Summer). The colors just scream summer and Florida. As you can see, I used the flamingos from the Beach Borders across the bottom of my card.
The flip-flops hanging in the center panel and the palm tree in the third panel are both from the Beach Charms.
I have a feeling my daughter will scoff this card up the first time she's at my house. Anything I make with flip-flops usually winds up at her house!

Talk Like Yoda Day It Is
Are you a Star Wars fan? I am, but I was unaware of this interesting holiday -- Talk Like Yoda Day. When I saw, I was immediately inspired to make a card in celebration. After deliberating exactly how I was going to accomplish this, I thought I would make a pop-up ball, using Karen Burniston's Bitty Ball Pop-Up.
I decided that I would place Yoda inside a gatefold card with a belly band holding it closed. This particular Yoda is a Kindred Stamps set I've had for a long time -- Galactic Adventures. I've got him mounted in Karen's Circles - Crosshatch. I made the sentiment using my label maker.

From the Vault
This month's theme for the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge is "From the Vault." We were to take a previous card we had made with one of Karen's dies and use it as inspiration for a new card.
As I was looking through my gallery of previous cards, I thought I might like to "re-make" one of the slimline cards I had made using the Little Labels Pop-Ups, but I couldn't really home in on one in particular. After watching Karen's February virtual class with the triple Raising Platform, an idea came to me.
This is the card I finally used as my inspiration.
. . . and the inside has three panels with fireworks. Only two of the platforms have fireworks, however; the third platform has a sentiment panel, similar to the way Karen's card had a sentiment panel on the center platform.
I think that triple Raising Platform technique is quite clever, and I'm glad I tried it.
