The special stamp set we have for you this month is:

"You Are an Angel"

The mini stamp set we have for you this month is

"Wings"

Even though the images on today's set, Firefighter, are really cute, this was the most challenging set for me.  I did finally decide to use the cute Dalmatian puppies.  When I was a teenager, we had a Dalmatian, which I have to tell you was not the brightest dog I've ever had.  But we loved him nonetheless!  We discovered an interesting "trick" he would perform.  If you threw a cigarette butt on the ground, he would pounce on it and try to put it out.  (This was in the days when we didn't know that cigarettes could kill you.)   So maybe that's why Dalmatians are called fire dogs -- because they really do try to put out fires!  BTW, the small fire hydrant was an afterthought.  There was a smudge on the paper, and I was trying to hide it.

As a bonus today, I'm showing you projects I made with the 5th and mini sets for this month -- a center-step card and a small memo pad holder.  I actually used this card for my June Christmas Card challenge card on Speedy TV, making four of them using You Are an Angel.   There's lots of glitz-and-glitter on this card.  In addition to the gold glitter paper that I used for the matting pieces and the narrow strips, I put Stickles on the angel wings.  I did some paper-piecing on this card -- the horn is gold paper and the gown is cream-colored shimmer paper.

I attended a card workshop on Saturday, and one of the projects we made was a small memo pad.  I thought it was really cute and decided to try to make one using the mini set for this month -- Wings.  I went up to Staples and bought some small memo pads, which were unfortunately just a bit larger than the one we used in class.  So I had to adjust the measurements of the original to fit the larger pad.  In addition, I used velcro to hold it closed rather than the magnets we used in class.  The magnet sheets I had were not strong enough to hold it closed.

Here it is opened.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  I hope you were inspired by my projects.  Be sure to check out the rest of the design team members' blogs for more inspiration.

Lois, your dalmatian card is so cute. I had a dalmatian when I was young. It wasn't very smart either. That is the first thing we said when we described him. Your angel card looks so elegant.

Oh my, I love all your cards. I have been looking for a template for a small memo pad like the one you made. I wonder if you would consider doing a tutorial? I would gladly have taken the workshop!

Keep it simple. Keep it fun.
