MFP Blog Hop - Day One

Mark's Finest Papers RELEASE Hop and....BLOG CANDY!!!
Mark's Finest Papers Design Team is celebrating our BRAND NEW STAMPS for the Speedy the Cat Designer Collection and Serenity Collection with a Blog Hop! They are available TODAY! For your chance to win BLOG CANDY, visit and comment on each of the design team members' blogs on April 14th, 15th, and 16th. On Saturday, (April 17th), a winner will be chosen FOR EACH DAY from those participants who visited all 9 blogs for that day! The 3 Winners will be announced on the Mark's Finest Papers Blog. Each winner will receive 1 Stamp Set that will be released NEXT month.

I actually was able to make two cards using the Spring Breeze set from the Serenity Collection.

I thought the Brick Wall technique would be perfect for the foliage from this set. I stamped the image twice on MFP Corn Husk and then cut the ½ inch strips, sponging around the edges before I cut them into 1 inch blocks – and then sponging again. The cute little butterfly is part of this set, too. The sentiment is stamped on MFP Desert Sand and cut out with one of the dies from the Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio Two. I added some purple to the foliage to coordinate with the ribbon and the butterfly.

My second card could work for a guy. I used this simple layout from Page Maps, a great site for card and scrapbook layouts. The left-hand strip of DP was made using the foliage stamp from Spring Breeze. The right-hand strip of DP is a piece of two-sided Heidi Grace DP, folded over at the top, adding a “button” made from cardstock. The sentiment is stamped on MFP Speedy the Cat’s Morning Milk and sponged with Palette Landscape and cut out using one of the Spellbinders Fancy Labels dies.

Be sure to visit the rest of the team to see what they did with this lovely set. And remember, starting tomorrow you have a chance to win one of the stamp sets to be released in May. That’s three chances to win!

Wow, the brick wall is perfect for your design. And also like the "guy card" as they are so hard to design!

Fabulous cards Lois! The brick wall card is over the top gorgeous! In fact it looks just like a wall in our local Pizza Parlor! Were you the artist and I just didn't know it??
