I decided that all my cards for this month's blog hop will be cards other than a standard A2 card.  My card for today is a Side Step Card.  I Googled "sea scene" to get the picture of the ocean for my tall section and used some sandy patterned paper for the two steps.

The stamped images and sentiment are from the stamp set Silly Shells.

Be sure to check out all the cards created by the Design Team members today.  And comment often for more chances to win a free stamp set.

CCEE1603 National Opposite Day

Frances informed the CCEE Stampers that January 25th is National Opposite Day.  Our challenge this week was to make a card/project that has opposites on it.  We were to think opposite colors on the color wheel, stripes and polka dots, black and white mirror image, etc.  I thought this was the perfect opportunity to make a card using a technique I haven't used in quite a white -- positive/negative.

See how the rest of the team handled this "opposite" challenge by visiting the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Frances informed the CCEE stampers that tomorrow (January 15th) is Hat Day and asked that we include a hat on our cards today.  When my sister was visiting from Illinois a couple of months ago, she brought along some fun stamps.  This is one of the cards I made with her stamps.

CCEE1601 Hot Tea Month

Happy New Year!  The CCEE Stampers are ready to bring you some more inspiration each week.  To start the new year, Frances tells us that January is Hot Tea Month.  As a tea drinker, I am happy that we get our own month -- the world seems to drink coffee; but, even though I tried to like coffee, I was never able to develop a taste for it.  So it's nice to be able to celebrate my "drink of choice."  Here's my card:

CCEE1550 - Leap Seconds

Did you know that there are occasional "leap seconds" added to the official year. Joanne tells us that on December 31, 2015, the folks who maintain the official time for the planet will add an extra second to the day to help correct minor variations in time.  The CCEE Stampers challenge this week is to incorporate time on our cards.

Check out the CCEE Stampers Blog to see how the rest of the team handles this "timely" challenge. We are taking the rest of the year off, so we will see you on the first Thursday of the New Year!

 Happy Holidays!!!

CCEE1549 - National Roof Over Your Head Day

Joanne is our hostess for the CCEE Stampers Blog this month.  Today she informs us that it is National Roof Over Your Head Day and asks us to make a card with a house/building of some sort on it.  As the holidays are right around the corner, I thought I would make that part of my card today.

Be sure to check the CCEE Stampers Blog to see what the rest of the team has created.

Scor-Pal More Than One Score -- Winter Fun

It's the first of the month again, and this month's More Than One Score Challenge on the Scor-Pal Blog is Winter Fun.  I live in Florida, and we don't get snow very often; but I decided to make a couple of snowmen for my card -- a Center Step Card -- for which I have written a tutorial.  I have seen several versions of the Center Step Card, vertical and horizontal.  My card today is the horizontal version.

Take a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of card stock and place it longways in your paper cutter.  Come in 1" from the side and start to make a cut from the
1 3/4" mark . . .

. . . to the 6 3/4" mark.  Repeat on the other side.

Place your card stock longways across the top of the Scor-Pal and score between the cut lines at
1 3/4"  and . . .

 . . . 2 3/4"

At the 4 1/4" mark, score all the way from top to bottom.

Score between the cut lines at 5 3/4" and . . .

. . . 6 3/4".
Fold your card as shown.  Then you can decorate it any way you'd like.

For my card, I made a background panel, but that is not necessary.

As you can see on this card, there is no center panel.

This one has a center panel of vellum just for attaching the snowflakes.

Check out the Scor-Pal Blog to see what kind of winter fun the rest of the team is having.
