I don't want to be haunted so I always plunge right in. This card was made with the Karen Burniston Landscape Rectangle Acccordion die and a couple of other previously released sets.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyutXNOl5ZR1SR2ov2dAhcPJnHqb6zBbVnEGi1OgNq-aiJy5Bor_xJP0ZvAz7LW8Cflek9xgtRh3IhpfgVGz0P31Q-B_D5-imM2-M-52RIGrmKqZNU15Q4ekB37hyphenhyphen3g8Aayf7jJHOsDCxlt56Y2JSCSEfaY56rN75TwVtCnR6sMUvca76Nonau9J0_7-A/s2623/Happy%20St%20Patrick's%20Day.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="2623" height="156" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyutXNOl5ZR1SR2ov2dAhcPJnHqb6zBbVnEGi1OgNq-aiJy5Bor_xJP0ZvAz7LW8Cflek9xgtRh3IhpfgVGz0P31Q-B_D5-imM2-M-52RIGrmKqZNU15Q4ekB37hyphenhyphen3g8Aayf7jJHOsDCxlt56Y2JSCSEfaY56rN75TwVtCnR6sMUvca76Nonau9J0_7-A/w400-h156/Happy%20St%20Patrick's%20Day.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />The backgrounds on the first and third panel were made by sponging ink through a Kindred Stamps stencil, while the middle panel is patterned paper. Well, I do. And after seeing fellow DT member Jennifer Webster's Mad Tea Party card, I was inspired to make one of my own. I've had a set of Alice in Wonderland-inspired stamps from Kindred Stamps, and it was perfect for my card. I stacked three of the teacups from the Tea & Coffee Borders set on the table.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmDcge2vJReWfAFIT-BXwgyAWJPmoCe303UAi7oZ0WlldNCQP2ztTNkK10zha0l6MlSZ9d4zLFyoGC1f3N20KDekIMumlLxbXM8n4riJD5LBIK2oak9DT72OVab3kfRH-Z6u0-n0jerdX9b3-_VkIoQxthzCTpkNqAT8_CEnT_cfUDBXb1DWl7aTjeXSk/s2050/My%20Cup%20of%20Tea%20front.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1657" data-original-width="2050" height="324" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmDcge2vJReWfAFIT-BXwgyAWJPmoCe303UAi7oZ0WlldNCQP2ztTNkK10zha0l6MlSZ9d4zLFyoGC1f3N20KDekIMumlLxbXM8n4riJD5LBIK2oak9DT72OVab3kfRH-Z6u0-n0jerdX9b3-_VkIoQxthzCTpkNqAT8_CEnT_cfUDBXb1DWl7aTjeXSk/w400-h324/My%20Cup%20of%20Tea%20front.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>I used the same gingham patterned paper from the table on the front for the inside, adding my teacup and two panels from the Fancy Label Accordion for my sentiment. </div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFXk9zFeNZLaxdOONe_IO-BqOl7JZXYwcKydA7UpIgG5HHVXCrYm5WrKCoGWovIHSNujsa1Q2JWK1GPKkJiDHn3yZqRgKIkZjAOKXGeEXdm9Bnl6ECJculr4QG4C5LmGA5Iy7uxRJ1AaGMIRK6hctzsTKCZO0Dt1m5BWTYBYfTyAbZAJc_ALWCsZfYJj0/s2199/My%20Cup%20of%20Tea%20inside.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2199" data-original-width="1950" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFXk9zFeNZLaxdOONe_IO-BqOl7JZXYwcKydA7UpIgG5HHVXCrYm5WrKCoGWovIHSNujsa1Q2JWK1GPKkJiDHn3yZqRgKIkZjAOKXGeEXdm9Bnl6ECJculr4QG4C5LmGA5Iy7uxRJ1AaGMIRK6hctzsTKCZO0Dt1m5BWTYBYfTyAbZAJc_ALWCsZfYJj0/w355-h400/My%20Cup%20of%20Tea%20inside.JPG" width="355" /></a></div><br /><p>I loved reading Alice in Wonderland as a kid. There's also a second book by Lewis Carroll -- Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There. I have a very old copy of this book, which was my mother's when she was a child. The cover page is missing, so I have no idea how old it is -- but she was born in 1919 and the pages are quite brown around the edges.</p>Loishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18130097076007067325noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5710309694993327715.post-80871224549984333852024-02-22T00:00:00.047-05:002024-02-22T00:00:00.136-05:00Surf's Up!<p>I'm loving the new release from Karen Burniston. I trimmed the waves in one spot so that the surfboard could sit flat on top of the left-hand pop-up. I cut two slits in the surfboard and inserted two small strips of cardstock which were glued against the front of the pop-up cube. They were covered with the front set of waves, as you can see in this photo. The strips stick up far enough for the monkey's feet to be glued to them.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVB-75CM9VIiFccEcE0ZYMsFkaJowwBPRkWg9GUiI8V-zdfHeUX513yg9-o8mYDQeA_pjTwIFuNlQ63SsibxOh4yLVhZ_WU4R_Yyhnrxg5JMWHKldwZu4hvEDx70LL6PclJdj_55OjB4OR_yxvc34EkAapYY0ClH4Mqqe852TIMAtM7jue6SjeJZq9Oik/s3173/Surf's%20Up%20close%202.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2683" data-original-width="3173" height="339" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVB-75CM9VIiFccEcE0ZYMsFkaJowwBPRkWg9GUiI8V-zdfHeUX513yg9-o8mYDQeA_pjTwIFuNlQ63SsibxOh4yLVhZ_WU4R_Yyhnrxg5JMWHKldwZu4hvEDx70LL6PclJdj_55OjB4OR_yxvc34EkAapYY0ClH4Mqqe852TIMAtM7jue6SjeJZq9Oik/w400-h339/Surf's%20Up%20close%202.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p>Thanks for stopping by my blog today to see my surfing monkey.</p> <p></p>Loishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18130097076007067325noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5710309694993327715.post-71252997139647518162024-02-19T09:00:00.081-05:002024-02-19T09:44:22.429-05:00Karen Burniston New Release Blog Hop<div class="x1e56ztr" style="background-color: white; color: #050505; font-family: "Segoe UI Historic", "Segoe UI", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 8px;"><span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x6prxxf xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u" color="var(--primary-text)" style="font-family: inherit; font-size: 0.9375rem; line-height: 1.3333; max-width: 100%; min-width: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; word-break: break-word;">Hi Crafty Friends,</span></div><div class="x1e56ztr" style="background-color: white; color: #050505; font-family: "Segoe UI Historic", "Segoe UI", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 8px;"><span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x6prxxf xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u" color="var(--primary-text)" style="font-family: inherit; font-size: 0.9375rem; line-height: 1.3333; max-width: 100%; min-width: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; word-break: break-word;">Welcome to our Karen Burniston Products - KB Riley LLC December Release Blog Hop. (She doesn't do Facebook or look at my blog, so I'm safe!) Again, I used that fun updated Lorna Label Pop-Up as well as the new Good Luck and Word Set 18 - Connectors dies.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj9qxbTg94Lq8UYs2HXJuJ6mDbweMDM9epRCrWFJg9PlT7PvJAfc1GCkk2QLW8J-5f-i9SwtBViiVrlSm62MT98OhGBvu_0FcM5C2_8hlGkmY_kc70JLY4VIkL5-t5RHiV4ffcGZ8LBOch3fsLbRlM9CYIbmaWkwL82nen-oN7Sdp_JS_8wwAMvMkFoq8/s1575/Good%20Luck.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1575" data-original-width="1500" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj9qxbTg94Lq8UYs2HXJuJ6mDbweMDM9epRCrWFJg9PlT7PvJAfc1GCkk2QLW8J-5f-i9SwtBViiVrlSm62MT98OhGBvu_0FcM5C2_8hlGkmY_kc70JLY4VIkL5-t5RHiV4ffcGZ8LBOch3fsLbRlM9CYIbmaWkwL82nen-oN7Sdp_JS_8wwAMvMkFoq8/w305-h320/Good%20Luck.jpg" width="305" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilVwRoENEwaNwegqeoKm0WsWp0cN3PB02mNQOyaeRldbKYEc21OY1jCSAuoqfkdp4FRZJ-QXStAERe0t-wF9TJwp-XWscv-7hwXQYALJYm7znOPeWyvoHdD2BZkoT4OwGt-nY8DjOymIonI0x0EIvCUFRY_w7P4iqTMlgE2SylTvKaXetH1uFR0ZLaGUs/s1575/Word%20Set%2018%20-%20Connectors.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1575" data-original-width="1500" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilVwRoENEwaNwegqeoKm0WsWp0cN3PB02mNQOyaeRldbKYEc21OY1jCSAuoqfkdp4FRZJ-QXStAERe0t-wF9TJwp-XWscv-7hwXQYALJYm7znOPeWyvoHdD2BZkoT4OwGt-nY8DjOymIonI0x0EIvCUFRY_w7P4iqTMlgE2SylTvKaXetH1uFR0ZLaGUs/s320/Word%20Set%2018%20-%20Connectors.jpg" width="305" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br />The little shamrocks on the front are part of the Good Luck Charms, as is the hat on the cat (which is part of the Cat & Dog set) and Squares - Crosshatch. Twelve new dies!!! </p><p>It's been pretty chilly here in Florida last month, but warm weather is upon us again. One of the new dies (Tiny Accessories 4) has some fun things to play with in the water. Karen's animals are having a splashing good time with them. Besides my brother's birthday on the 4th (and my grandfather's birthday was on the 2nd), the 14th is Valentine's Day. The theme for Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for February is "Oh, My Hearts" -- very appropriate. In addition to a Valentine card, I also made some Valentine Treat Boxes, using the recently released Candy Heart Box. The little conversation hearts are part of the die set for the box.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuLjFhsSCE11dUvObDK3WoubfV5gG26uraO9jptOx887f5EV53t7WyhPp_a2A92qPMlgH8oHT7r16a94MfqC7-9KhyhyphenhyphenNhlaXR9zO1kP3D2Q5tfV_VovVkgSMhwe8mTpbWpMxX6UG3OYTMiiA_ZlJZdNzF3GQLAbRIZrlOlgc5MWWpnObT9aKqeYkl_bk/s1605/2-24%20Happy%20Valentine's%20Day%20-%20just%20card.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1331" data-original-width="1605" height="331" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuLjFhsSCE11dUvObDK3WoubfV5gG26uraO9jptOx887f5EV53t7WyhPp_a2A92qPMlgH8oHT7r16a94MfqC7-9KhyhyphenhyphenNhlaXR9zO1kP3D2Q5tfV_VovVkgSMhwe8mTpbWpMxX6UG3OYTMiiA_ZlJZdNzF3GQLAbRIZrlOlgc5MWWpnObT9aKqeYkl_bk/w400-h331/2-24%20Happy%20Valentine's%20Day%20-%20just%20card.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>While the boxes are relatively small, these are each holding a snack-size Kit-Kat bar and three Hershey miniatures.</p><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFTLBM4mL0XonsuGB6mvuJOzpwsbaMo42Uhlc9roQWCJOCWP36Dr4wKKavanIXHZ99nm5O9gE2kgE7l1ziRhfaJksU7iIasBrc8rll7Ds1qi166JNqxedeYw8BmFm0yk3_XpBqb44r1T-mEgOeE9IpUVyfxLj7VCp2jKt-Xo5xIxCYchjJcTL2WzzbC_E/s2589/2-24%20Happy%20Valentine's%20Day%20-%20just%20boxes.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1885" data-original-width="2589" height="291" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFTLBM4mL0XonsuGB6mvuJOzpwsbaMo42Uhlc9roQWCJOCWP36Dr4wKKavanIXHZ99nm5O9gE2kgE7l1ziRhfaJksU7iIasBrc8rll7Ds1qi166JNqxedeYw8BmFm0yk3_XpBqb44r1T-mEgOeE9IpUVyfxLj7VCp2jKt-Xo5xIxCYchjJcTL2WzzbC_E/w400-h291/2-24%20Happy%20Valentine's%20Day%20-%20just%20boxes.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>So whether you are celebrating Valentine's Day with your sweetie or Galentine's Day with your gal friends, I hope it's a good one!<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW_EPQHmUlwaqXGg5oy19AiM4ThqCJxrc_G5TkcWdh9bcZY6dm1wEf22F6Eu0vJ6WRdbUtn4BYvpv4cZtgKJRu3zngNLcHReDGY5nBODHeATzj6RTdz7K6xHtxb-bC4rLVEILVy6W4V4xhIxcVMVNZ7tMcD_CMq10gNCMfYlQrrRTTG-Bn-R61zN7Ajl8/s3511/2-24%20Happy%20Valentine's%20Day.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2207" data-original-width="3511" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW_EPQHmUlwaqXGg5oy19AiM4ThqCJxrc_G5TkcWdh9bcZY6dm1wEf22F6Eu0vJ6WRdbUtn4BYvpv4cZtgKJRu3zngNLcHReDGY5nBODHeATzj6RTdz7K6xHtxb-bC4rLVEILVy6W4V4xhIxcVMVNZ7tMcD_CMq10gNCMfYlQrrRTTG-Bn-R61zN7Ajl8/w400-h251/2-24%20Happy%20Valentine's%20Day.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Loishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18130097076007067325noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5710309694993327715.post-53479123384985346092024-01-25T13:04:00.002-05:002024-01-25T13:04:53.344-05:00Happy Valentine's Day<p>After watching Karen Burniston's video on creating a double Bam Box Pop-up card, I decided to make a few adjustments and make one myself. As Valentine's Day is close at hand, that was my theme. I thought a slimline card would be a little different. The title of the first Designer Challenge of 2024 is "Raise It Up!" We were to make a card of any theme, using the brand-new Raising Platform Pop-Up die. </p><p>I had a request from a friend of mine to make a humorous birthday card for her 80-year-old friend. I took the opportunity of this month's designer challenge as a starting point. Art Impressions stamps has a line of humorous "Girlfriend" stamps which I love. They were perfect for this request. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8ITLYMkj7ap9z52VD4H5OPqUUgWVTqstPpkx9oe40o9d_6DKdchjddRp_iC6GaD4Od1H2BVF0fMLH_WuqtdJL4Mst2FazffN5U6vwaZc7RY_epKie1TunChp_9DaUQJHv65H0gZrJJFLzsR_g1DDkQedW1TlwbD3riZyVemVndazp_uQezqqpjA7GNwc/s1552/1-24%2080th%20Birthday.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1552" data-original-width="1311" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8ITLYMkj7ap9z52VD4H5OPqUUgWVTqstPpkx9oe40o9d_6DKdchjddRp_iC6GaD4Od1H2BVF0fMLH_WuqtdJL4Mst2FazffN5U6vwaZc7RY_epKie1TunChp_9DaUQJHv65H0gZrJJFLzsR_g1DDkQedW1TlwbD3riZyVemVndazp_uQezqqpjA7GNwc/w338-h400/1-24%2080th%20Birthday.JPG" width="338" /></a></div><br /><p>Remember: the Raising Platform Pop-Up was to be used on today's card. While birthday numbers don't really have a particular gemstone, one of the responses I got back was: As ruby is the gem for an 80th anniversary gift, it could also be used for an 80th birthday.</p><p>Thanks for stopping by today to look at my Designer Challenge card.</p>Loishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18130097076007067325noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5710309694993327715.post-21921663330798203962023-12-11T09:00:00.129-05:002023-12-11T09:00:00.142-05:00Karen Burniston New Release<p> <span color="var(--primary-text)" style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; font-size: 0.9375rem;">Hi Crafty Friends,</span></p><div class="x1e56ztr" style="background-color: white; color: #050505; font-family: "Segoe UI Historic", "Segoe UI", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 8px;"><span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x6prxxf xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u" color="var(--primary-text)" style="font-family: inherit; font-size: 0.9375rem; line-height: 1.3333; max-width: 100%; min-width: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; word-break: break-word;">Welcome to our Karen Burniston Products - KB Riley LLC December Release Blog Hop. There's not a lot of explanation needed on how I made these tags -- some Hogwarts paper and a lot of coloring. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG6O0fmmrYbO1GTk1ePlA84ShIVc7lGLDtOj4nwa9SdAXXjGakU2O1JC4FQ9jpRte829sRhXyCpcKnsyrto9MODNZ_ZiOSNCpyxboUUyTCocSjOV3TP7muJ3ggzWyvJMgK4EpucCacAZgirRwKnnsV9WYhBPMIjOK4g2T0r7BcM57X261b3hms8iJEOok/s2044/Hogwarts%20-%20Luna%20Myrtle%20&%20Snape.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1780" data-original-width="2044" height="349" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG6O0fmmrYbO1GTk1ePlA84ShIVc7lGLDtOj4nwa9SdAXXjGakU2O1JC4FQ9jpRte829sRhXyCpcKnsyrto9MODNZ_ZiOSNCpyxboUUyTCocSjOV3TP7muJ3ggzWyvJMgK4EpucCacAZgirRwKnnsV9WYhBPMIjOK4g2T0r7BcM57X261b3hms8iJEOok/w400-h349/Hogwarts%20-%20Luna%20Myrtle%20&%20Snape.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRqYQKvC8ANwn8E9Lrfa4ZN2wB3qMLG8FeEyhXUQ7pc6saf0R-aRaaSWHl56WZ4QcCwKTOMlO7T4qwYsBMZ1UvD6JS7_rblQdQA9vKQUySQxN-9uEYsNkargFOHR_x1TuyUPwEhimEcWU7BILVP1RqvsKmkY87iTjY_s1xfmUKAr_81oW9ilPrx7xa7oU/s2074/Hogwarts%20-%20Ron%20&%20Hermione.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2074" data-original-width="1674" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRqYQKvC8ANwn8E9Lrfa4ZN2wB3qMLG8FeEyhXUQ7pc6saf0R-aRaaSWHl56WZ4QcCwKTOMlO7T4qwYsBMZ1UvD6JS7_rblQdQA9vKQUySQxN-9uEYsNkargFOHR_x1TuyUPwEhimEcWU7BILVP1RqvsKmkY87iTjY_s1xfmUKAr_81oW9ilPrx7xa7oU/w323-h400/Hogwarts%20-%20Ron%20&%20Hermione.JPG" width="323" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis1O2YiB-tUNgQLgo0JuKLyFtgGrA-1b3wDFY4vrViCYgWJuvRy-921u8xY7HcAbUBvVaKs14734pKGLsO0b8gEmIxYqD3Qk_VVQR186dRlECqb94qfQUnj1uTjSpOA-UHKQJlWAJYgsAfPRFPJQnSNwwUWYdgqpNzr3QM2RsBFzRZrPW3Pn1gVegpnJk/s2081/Hogwarts%20-%20Harry%20&%20Dumbledore.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2081" data-original-width="1850" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis1O2YiB-tUNgQLgo0JuKLyFtgGrA-1b3wDFY4vrViCYgWJuvRy-921u8xY7HcAbUBvVaKs14734pKGLsO0b8gEmIxYqD3Qk_VVQR186dRlECqb94qfQUnj1uTjSpOA-UHKQJlWAJYgsAfPRFPJQnSNwwUWYdgqpNzr3QM2RsBFzRZrPW3Pn1gVegpnJk/w355-h400/Hogwarts%20-%20Harry%20&%20Dumbledore.JPG" width="355" /></a></div><br /><p>I have a corner of my living room as my "Harry Potter Corner." We were to make a Christmas card incorporating a stocking. I decided to use the Fireplace Pop-Up and Fireplace Extras 1, which includes stockings.</p><p>About 10 years ago I saw a card by Grace Nywening which she called a Center Easel Card. I thought it was such a clever take on the easel card that I printed out her blog post so I would have the instructions. This month's challenge was perfect for this type of card. The Fireplace Pop-Up fit perfectly in the easel section . . .</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZaIId-gVZxWi6ll66FSafzdKcDSUAn7bIFvMoIV_Wb9rldHCmJulNcabImKBehXRENVK8ft01gOa9jKiTtysq0VfWjoyV1OnxpprLuVRvMlIARjCOwqGTMAINaqG6NUYtDaWWvKI0RuRFAQmwcaiUPLP_mquw0Br6UVzKON1U-3lCBWImsmCIIn_5Xvs/s2497/12-23%20Christmas%20Stockings%20closed.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1838" data-original-width="2497" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZaIId-gVZxWi6ll66FSafzdKcDSUAn7bIFvMoIV_Wb9rldHCmJulNcabImKBehXRENVK8ft01gOa9jKiTtysq0VfWjoyV1OnxpprLuVRvMlIARjCOwqGTMAINaqG6NUYtDaWWvKI0RuRFAQmwcaiUPLP_mquw0Br6UVzKON1U-3lCBWImsmCIIn_5Xvs/s320/12-23%20Christmas%20Stockings%20closed.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><p>. . . and the "Merry Christmas" was the perfect "bumper" to hold the card open.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqfgptTVTvfaeM_9buHWv32aShPK3V6mTJ1Gadl2YdbomjvoXYr-pCQ7NeiP3neqnvpur08RdqYrnc_D5s9XUAcf2ErevD5iVimW0QO5BGO1Rn_DhuapKJmzNrxBI85pjmsDtj3LKyXh9otNEqqxpKoetHI8eT-ElKUZ0TYZiVM69RvmaVQEKpHAbKXoQ/s2082/12-23%20Christmas%20Stockings%20open.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1744" data-original-width="2082" height="268" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqfgptTVTvfaeM_9buHWv32aShPK3V6mTJ1Gadl2YdbomjvoXYr-pCQ7NeiP3neqnvpur08RdqYrnc_D5s9XUAcf2ErevD5iVimW0QO5BGO1Rn_DhuapKJmzNrxBI85pjmsDtj3LKyXh9otNEqqxpKoetHI8eT-ElKUZ0TYZiVM69RvmaVQEKpHAbKXoQ/s320/12-23%20Christmas%20Stockings%20open.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />I'm so glad I hung onto those instructions.<p></p><div>I have a bonus Designer Challenge card for you, one which uses one of the new dies -- the Raising Platform Pop-Up. She has 7 new dies being released next Monday, and the Design Team will be showing them off all this week. One of the new sets is Topper Tags -- a set of 4 tags, 4 grommets, and 2 borders. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAB4Kmy885aQgtAyJmE6WmaWs9KrOjDpqq8m6qAnPX8auBLPiZTWO6NfKpI-O6f2Neex66VGcuzA04dlsUVhp3OHAMIOZJqVJcvcLaEAmE7g65zkbSPJKVffBkB0-tVDiOgBrJnEKjvujrHcOpxN03Lbn5BGjoja_0otGH6vqnfgHsluou8tCA-yX59-4/s2048/Topper%20Tags.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1427" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAB4Kmy885aQgtAyJmE6WmaWs9KrOjDpqq8m6qAnPX8auBLPiZTWO6NfKpI-O6f2Neex66VGcuzA04dlsUVhp3OHAMIOZJqVJcvcLaEAmE7g65zkbSPJKVffBkB0-tVDiOgBrJnEKjvujrHcOpxN03Lbn5BGjoja_0otGH6vqnfgHsluou8tCA-yX59-4/s320/Topper%20Tags.jpg" width="223" /></a></div><br />I decided that I'd like to make something with this set that was a bit different than just a tag, so I thought of a gift card holder. <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghwBvW2cFVL1UEuB-9NQoFgErqJ_wlRSWPL8-20L3qh8_3FEkj3QOMSXT-niR10GKs1-mFzWQO2GgaA9Df6poxCcslZVt8eGLh-N-Lfhyphenhyphen7Ly3-TBs-tn9Sb_uk6C3e1vdwT6Z_h80oAtt9O1eXJREB7RiIjbii8HzcoTIdrTwAtSQX-OIW6GQNLlXZECw/s1608/Gift%20Card%20Holder%20inside%20with%20gift%20card.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1608" data-original-width="1481" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghwBvW2cFVL1UEuB-9NQoFgErqJ_wlRSWPL8-20L3qh8_3FEkj3QOMSXT-niR10GKs1-mFzWQO2GgaA9Df6poxCcslZVt8eGLh-N-Lfhyphenhyphen7Ly3-TBs-tn9Sb_uk6C3e1vdwT6Z_h80oAtt9O1eXJREB7RiIjbii8HzcoTIdrTwAtSQX-OIW6GQNLlXZECw/w369-h400/Gift%20Card%20Holder%20inside%20with%20gift%20card.JPG" width="369" /></a></div><br /><p>We all give gift cards at Christmas, so a different type of holder sounded interesting. I used some Photoplay fall papers that I had on my desk from having made another card earlier. I think if I had to do it over again, I might have used different background paper on the center sections, but what is done is done. I do like that little acorn from KB Autumn Elements on the front though.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifvtvp4AJsqXMjigMCcuscFqeYkn_Nv2xg1BiZr0x7ZoASlWFKRo7dT00W5u-67_3ZNu7dP5bu3DaIQHsYczL5Q3FkYisDrMtImsg3QnU3UQkUM6BBZXcswYPcCmKQlFu8MFohDwN-l8xWDqgdC13sUoHt4ADixMWqygaOhjbYUHUDUVNPTw0ICWnwXII/s1227/Thanksgiving%20Turkey%20front.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="863" data-original-width="1227" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifvtvp4AJsqXMjigMCcuscFqeYkn_Nv2xg1BiZr0x7ZoASlWFKRo7dT00W5u-67_3ZNu7dP5bu3DaIQHsYczL5Q3FkYisDrMtImsg3QnU3UQkUM6BBZXcswYPcCmKQlFu8MFohDwN-l8xWDqgdC13sUoHt4ADixMWqygaOhjbYUHUDUVNPTw0ICWnwXII/w400-h281/Thanksgiving%20Turkey%20front.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div>Although you can make longer accordions with this die set, I like the way a two-panel accordion looks. During the next two months a lot of what's cooking will be Christmas cookies. So I took that opportunity to feature the new Oven Pop-Up set to make my card.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimNWiTHm-Depe93sAnTaAiGl38Mf_1VS5XT4js_YSdq6HHHlsQcp-oy-zPEfYIDK3aZXje6aST1bkHlwn05dGURDS30fT-zc3kASnm_qtDvOF-5pbcUbLgieQemz4lZqG0swrGp4pMru1hMBfkABjiO_bFMSQejkX3JKDCjkV44jikoWgfT1Obn7tL0aU/s1533/Oven%20die%20sets.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1132" data-original-width="1533" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimNWiTHm-Depe93sAnTaAiGl38Mf_1VS5XT4js_YSdq6HHHlsQcp-oy-zPEfYIDK3aZXje6aST1bkHlwn05dGURDS30fT-zc3kASnm_qtDvOF-5pbcUbLgieQemz4lZqG0swrGp4pMru1hMBfkABjiO_bFMSQejkX3JKDCjkV44jikoWgfT1Obn7tL0aU/w400-h295/Oven%20die%20sets.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p>The front of the card is relatively simple -- just a wreath and some gingerbread men. I don't get many trick-or-treaters where I live, so I make cards and mail them out to my family and friends. Today's card was made with the Landscape Rectangle Accordion and the Fence Add-ons, along with several Halloween sets.</p><p>The front of the card has the cauldron from the new Witch and Cauldron with one of the Small Sentiments Halloween on it. I added the skulls from the new Halloween Borders and a jack-o-lantern from the previously released Halloween Elements. You can see a skeleton peeking out from inside the card.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjBgaET2yk6KPF0EIhJcK7pCKAkRigE_ZTA6JN7Y3crd13my_AYhTCpYdskoXHIox6m79_NiqZBQkanAv3P42dxvM39rfXJgOdVmNF4DI7xagYCeoYDxbBKcGEGaJ1-IjMQbzqaS7m0xuCNFEbD8W8FsET2qraHt2AAF_PgY8cgHqEMhqHUi23A3Z7nQ8/s1423/Halloween%20Fence%20front.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="924" data-original-width="1423" height="260" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjBgaET2yk6KPF0EIhJcK7pCKAkRigE_ZTA6JN7Y3crd13my_AYhTCpYdskoXHIox6m79_NiqZBQkanAv3P42dxvM39rfXJgOdVmNF4DI7xagYCeoYDxbBKcGEGaJ1-IjMQbzqaS7m0xuCNFEbD8W8FsET2qraHt2AAF_PgY8cgHqEMhqHUi23A3Z7nQ8/w400-h260/Halloween%20Fence%20front.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />The inside of the card has a few more Halloween elements. Again I used the skulls from the Halloween Borders. In addition to the cauldron, I also added the witch. She wasn't tall enough to be stirring the pot, so to speak, so I made a little stepstool, using one of the trapezoids from the Surprise Ball Pop-Up. It gets her high enough to mix her potion, which includes some interesting items.<p></p><p>To balance out the witch, I added the skeleton on the other side of the card. I made a sign using another one of the Small Sentiments Halloween and attached it to the fence with two small brads. I added the two jack-o-lanterns at the bottom, and I was done.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1FK3iZ4URUgB2X5oe09Jy83Zw9b4QevfmotTK4fz7545lxNPT1AEndZNOLBKteLE8CKJnAXrwOPERMpyl3kg-Xzk3AIHZqKwDcIGKRMAGrm9DigLy929ek4c8_7YnjLct4E-3i7ZsoHCS7zemY1Yjn4PHJpyuKtPJ0DSV3wgfx2466glVLPw6I34-DDw/s2893/Halloween%20Fence%20inside.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1490" data-original-width="2893" height="206" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1FK3iZ4URUgB2X5oe09Jy83Zw9b4QevfmotTK4fz7545lxNPT1AEndZNOLBKteLE8CKJnAXrwOPERMpyl3kg-Xzk3AIHZqKwDcIGKRMAGrm9DigLy929ek4c8_7YnjLct4E-3i7ZsoHCS7zemY1Yjn4PHJpyuKtPJ0DSV3wgfx2466glVLPw6I34-DDw/w400-h206/Halloween%20Fence%20inside.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p>I really enjoyed making this "spooky" card.</p>Loishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18130097076007067325noreply@blogger.com0
