C4C590 Fairy Day

For the final Crazy4Challenges post this month, we were told that Thursday, June 24th was Fairy Day, so for our challenge this week, we were to create a card that includes a fairy/fairies.

I recently won a Hero Arts coverplate die of a fairy, and this is the first time I've used it.  I did a bit of ink blending for the background, mounted the die-cut over it, and stamped an appropriate sentiment.  It wasn't until I looked closer at the card that I realized that I had laid the die-cut on upside-down.  Oops!  But it was too pretty to throw away.  Hopefully, the recipient won't notice.

Check out the Crazy4Challenges blog for some more fairy magic.

CCEE2125 - National Eagle Day

Kelly's final challenge for the CCEE Stampers this month is a patriotic one.  She told us that June 20 is National Eagle Day in the USA, so let's celebrate our national symbol.  It's a time set aside to raise awareness about the bald eagle and to preserve the bird's natural habitat.  Please use an eagle (or bird) on your card/project to celebrate this winged treasure.

I have become addicted to the new Karen Burniston Waterfall Card die.  I've made waterfall cards in the past, but they were pretty time-consuming.  This die makes it SO much easier.  Another "favorite" is the slimline card, so I combined both of these loves on my card for today.   While the eagle on the first panel is stamped, I had some patriotic stickers in my stash that worked perfectly on the rest of the panels.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see how the rest of the team handled Kelly's challenge.

C4C589 Sketch Challenge

The Crazy4Challenges sketch this month is a tall slimline layout.

My Honey Bee Stamps For the Record stamp/die set was the perfect choice for these shapes.  These were the first of many Honey Bee Stamps products in my arsenal.  And I found some patterned paper in my stash which worked very well with the theme.

Check out the Crazy4Challenges blog to see how the rest of the team worked around this layout.

CCEE2124 - Great Outdoors Month

Kelly continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers and tells us that June is Great Outdoors Month.  She asked us to create a card/project showcasing something fun outdoors -- camping, hiking, biking, picnics, etc.

I've had this Karen Burniston Tent Pop-Up die set for a while, but I don't think I've ever used it before.  So today was the day to pull it out!

Be sure to visit the CCEE Stampers blog for some more outdoor fun!

C4C588 Cupcake Day

The Crazy4Challenges team is celebrating Cupcake Day, which is Monday, June 14th.  I tried my hand at a mini slimline card with the Karen Burniston Tag Book Pop-Up on the inside.  I found an old cupcake-related stamp set in my stash which was perfect for this card.

CCEE2123 -- Donald Duck Day

Kelly tells the CCEE Stampers that yesterday was Donald Duck Day, her husband's favorite Disney character.  She asked us to feature a duck(s) on our card/project.

My inventory of stamps was pretty limited in the duck department, but I found a digital stamp from Paper Nest Dolls with a duck on it.  And it gave me an opportunity to use my favorite "rainy day" die from Memory Box!  I just love those puddles!

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more ducks!

C4C587 Great Outdoors Month/Camping Month

The Crazies are starting a new month of challenges, and we start off by honoring both Great Outdoors Month and Camping Month.  So we're creating cards inspired by the Great Outdoors.

My card uses a new die (the Karen Burniston Slip Flaps & Frames) and an old die (the Karen Burniston Camping Pop-Up.  After seeing some cute Flamingo paper clips used by Kelly Booth, I scoured Amazon and found these Deer Head paper clips, which hold the flaps closed.

After removing the paper clips, the flaps will open revealing this campsite.

Be sure to check out the Crazy4Challenges blog for some more homage to the Great Outdoors.

CCEE2122 - Repeat Day

Kelly starts her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers by telling us that today is Repeat Day!  She asked us to use the repeat stamping technique on our card/project.  I wanted to try a technique that I had never used before, so I googled "repeat stamping technique on cards" and came upon something new to me -- Stamp Shifting.  There was a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers which looked pretty cool.

I'm anxious to see what the rest of the team comes up with for this challenge.  I'm always in the market for new techniques.   Check out the CCEE Stampers blog if you are too.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge -- Make a Scene

It's the first Tuesday of June, time for another Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.  This month Karen challenged the team to "make a scene."  One of the new dies from the recent release is the Tiny House Pop-Up.  Such a cute little house!  Along with the Mushroom House Add-On, I created this little Fairy Garden.

The front of the card is one of Riley & Company's Mushroom Lane houses.  I stamped a little fairy coming up the steps, adding the welcoming "hello" from the new Slim Flaps & Frames.

Upon opening the card, you find the entire scene, complete with two Tiny Trees Pop-Ups.  Two little glittery fairies are sitting on the fences.

Here are a few close-up photos of this magical fairy garden.  I love the purple trees!

I had such fun creating this little bit of fantasy.

Scor-Pal "More Than One Score"

Father's Day is this month, so my card for the Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" challenge is quite masculine -- and is also an experiment.  I took one of the tutorials on the Scor-Pal website, Pockets & More Pockets, and made a tool box for Father's Day.  It didn't turn out exactly like I imagined it, but it works nonetheless.  That photo in the right-hand bottom corner is the back of the card.  That cool metallic-looking paper is part of a photo paper pad I've had for a very long time.

The tools in the "drawers" are from both Karen Burniston and Creek Bank Creations.
