Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Everybody's Irish on St. Patrick's Day!  (I do have Irish ancestors.)  I made this card for a good friend who happens to be Polish; but today she's Irish, and she loves gnomes!

The base of this card is the Karen Burniston Circle Tag Book, a very generic die set that can be used for anything you'd like.  I had found some cute St. Patrick's Day patterned paper with lots of gnomes on it at Hobby Lobby some time ago and finally found a use for it.  I picked out four of the gnomes, fussy cut them out, and glued them to the circles.  I added a small oval that I found in the Popcorn die set and stamped a little shamrock on it.  I can sign the card there.

I wish you the Luck of the Irish today and every day.

Last Karen Burniston Sneak Peek for January

It's almost time for the new release from Karen Burniston to be available.  My last sneak peek uses the Triple Platform Pop-up for a St. Patrick's Day card.  The front is rather plain . . .

. . . but the inside pops out at you.  I had a small wooden shamrock which I traced onto three pieces of green cardstock and cut out, repeating the process on white cardstock, but cutting smaller.  I decorated the three shamrocks with diecuts from both the Good Luck Charms and Paper People.  I stamped the center shamrock with an Irish phrase.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

My Irish ancestors would be unhappy with me if I didn't make cards for St. Patrick's Day.  I don't want to be haunted so I always plunge right in.  This card was made with the Karen Burniston Landscape Rectangle Acccordion die and a couple of other previously released sets.

The backgrounds on the first and third panel were made by sponging ink through a Kindred Stamps stencil, while the middle panel is patterned paper.  I also cut out the cute gnomes from another section of the patterned paper and popped them up with foam squares.

I hope you have a very lucky St. Patrick's Day this year.  And, if you are so inclined, have a mug of green beer!

Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek - Day 7

My last sneak peek for this new release is a small 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 St. Patrick's Day card that I made for my cat-loving friend.  (She doesn't do Facebook or look at my blog, so I'm safe!)  Again, I used that fun updated Lorna Label Pop-Up as well as the new Good Luck and Word Set 18 - Connectors dies.

The little shamrocks on the front are part of the Good Luck Charms, as is the hat on the cat (which is part of the Cat & Dog set) and Squares - Crosshatch.  This proves Karen's motto that her dies are all "backward compatible."

Don't forget about our Blog Hop tomorrow.  You'll have many chances to win a $25 gift certificate to the Karen Burniston website by commenting on as many blogs as you can.  As my card says, "Good Luck."

Karen Burniston New Release Day 3

I know it's early, but card makers (and other crafters as well) must work ahead.  My card for today is a St. Patrick's Day card, using the new Little Twist Panel.  Nothing brand new on the front -- just last year's sentiment die and  the Gnome & Santa transformed into a leprechaun.

There are two Little Twist Panels on the inside, decorated with the Good Luck Charms.

On my earlier sneak peek of this set, I glued the Little Twist Panel on top of the patterned paper on the inside of the card.  On this card, the "anchoring panels" are placed under the patterned paper.  This was accomplished by gluing a strip of paper on both sides of the fold of the card base, then gluing down the twist panel mechanism.  Another strip of patterned paper was then adhered over the "anchoring panels.".

This is definitely a fun die set, and it works so well inside a slimline card.  As I love making slimlines, I can definitely see me using this one a lot.

All the new dies will be available for purchase starting next Monday.

CCEE2209 - Die Cuts Only

Frances continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers.  Her challenge this week:  create a card that is created using dies only, no stamps.  If you must, you can use a stamp for the sentiment; but bonus points if you use dies.

St. Patrick's Day is next week; and my Irish ancestors were so happy to see these dies from Karen Burniston that I used on my card today -- all dies, no stamps.

Karen Burniston recently did a video showing how you could add the Twist Panel Pop-Up die in a slimline card.  As I watched the video, I decided I wanted to give it a try.  Here's my result.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog and see how the rest of the team handled this "no stamp" challenge.

St. Patrick's Day "More Than One Score"

As St. Patrick's Day is this month, I decided on an appropriate card for my "More Than One Score" challenge card today.  One of the first fun-fold cards I learned how to make was a center-step card.  I used several Karen Burniston dies on this card -- the Santa and Gnome set (disguised as a leprechaun), plus the new Good Luck Charms and Happy St. Patrick's Day and Shadow.

Another Sneak Peek

I must say that I've been having a great time creating St. Patrick's Day cards with some of the new dies from Karen Burniston, and I've got another one today.  And I've got another one today, but this mini slimline one uses the Heart Collage Pop-up as well as the St. Patrick's Day dies.  I love how you can convert the Gnome & Santa into a leprechaun using the hat from the Good Luck Charms and changing the colors of his hair and clothes.

In addition to the Heart Collage Pop-Up (using some of the Good Luck Charms instead of the hearts) I have some labels from both the Paper Frames Pop-Up and the Crosshatch - Labels, as well as one of the Border Blends on the inside.

This is such a fun release.  The dies will be available to order next week.  And be sure to check out our blog hop on Monday.

Karen Burniston Sneak Peek - Day 1

Good news!  There's a new release coming from Karen Burniston -- 8 new dies!

The first sets I played with were the Good Luck Charms and the Happy St. Patrick's Day sentiment and shadow.

I added the charms to the Oval Pop-Up with some jump rings I had in my stash.

I'm sure my Irish ancestors were happy to see these dies -- I know I was!
