CCEE1613 Eifel Tower Day

Frances ends her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week.  According to the Days of the Year web site, today is Eiffel Tower Day.  So our challenge was to celebrate all things Parisian.  It could be the Eiffel Tower, French Poodle, Berets, Champagne, Red, White & Blue.  I decided to use a new die set that I bought because I saw a card that Frances had made with it.  It was perfect for this week's challenge.

Stop over at the CCEE Stampers blog to get some more French inspiration.

Let's get started !!

Using an Impression Obsession die set and several MFP Stamp Shop sets today, I've created a little sylvan scene for my final card of the Blog Hop.  I stamped three deer (a buck, a doe, and a fawn) and cut them out (removing the antlers on the doe and fawn).  To make the doe, I first stamped the image onto waxed paper and then laid the waxed paper onto the cardstock and carefully pressed down.  This resulted in a reverse of the original image.

The sets I used to create my card were MFP Stamp Shop Animal Birthdays, Oh Deer, and Bow Hunting.

Let's get started !!

In deciding for a theme for my cards this month, I realized that the blog hop theme of wild animals would lend itself very nicely to masculine cards . . . and we all need birthday cards.  So, all of my cards this week will be masculine birthday cards.   My first card for the hop is a relatively clean and simple one.

For this card I used two MFP Stamp Shop sets, Above the Rest and Be Wild.

CCEE1611 Poultry Day

It's Thursday and CCEE Stampers challenge day.  Frances tells us that Saturday is Poultry Day (there's a new one in my book).  She asked us to be inspired by poultry when creating our cards this week . . . chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, emus, ostriches or just eggs.  I created a little farm scene with a couple varieties of poultry.

I grew up in the country.  We had chickens and ducks.  We didn't have turkeys, but the people across the road from us did, as well as some goats.  Stop over at the CCEE Stampers blog to see what examples of poultry the rest of the team used.

CCEE1610 Johnny Appleseed

Frances continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this month.  She let us know that tomorrow is Johnny Appleseed Day and asked us to include an apple on our card.  Frances is the queen of the fun fold cards, so I made an accordion card in her honor and had some alphabet fun in the process.

Stop over at the CCEE Stampers blog to see what else has come out of the apple orchard today.

CCEE1609 - Be Happy

Welcome to another month of fun challenges, this month our challenge hostess is Frances.

She tells us that today is "I want to Be Happy Day" … who doesn't want to be happy :) and tomorrow is Dress in Blue Day (Frances'  favorite color). So for our cards this week let's include the word "Happy" somewhere on your card and also include the color blue.

When asked what her favorite color was, my mom would always say "any color so long as it's blue."  So I was happy to comply with Frances' color choice.  I used some old Stampin' Up nautical paper as well.

Check out the CCEE Stampers Blog to see some more "blue" cards.

Scor-Pal's More Than One Score Challenge

It's March 1st and time for a new Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" challenge.  Katie is our hostess this month and her theme is the old adage for March -- "In like a lion, out like a lamb."    I struggled a bit with this challenge; but with the help of Google, I was able to make a card.  I used a technique I had seen on Splitcoaststampers -- an interlocking gatefold card.

When you "unlock" the circles and open the card, here is what you find.

Thank you, Google, for the photos of the lion and the lamb.   I used my Just Rite alphabet stamps for the two parts of the March adage.   I hope the rest of the team had an easier time of it than I did.  Check out the Scor-Pal Blog to find out.
