Emily gave the Stampin'B's quite a challenge this week -- make a card using purple and turquoise, but also include something shiny or sparkly.
So I tackled this challenge head-on. The card base is purple and the nutcracker's jacket is turquoise. I love this nutcracker from one of Mark's Finest Papers' Christmas sets -- Christmas Postage Due. After coloring him with Copic markers, I added some Flower Soft to his hair and beard. And I don't know if you can see the detail of the brads or not. They have purple gemstones on them. (That was my shiny/sparkly item.) The DP is Basic Grey Marrakech.

Fantastic, Lois!! I love how you used the colors--these were PERFECT for your nutcracker! The marrakech DP was an awesome choice, and I love your sparkly brads. A beautiful card!
You sure know how to color this guy! He just pops off the card~~
Hi Lois, Just found your blog. Love your cards. Love that Nutcracker card you did on 11/15. Was wondering where you got the nutcracker background paper? Would love to get some myself - also a nutcracker fan. Thanks
Lois, this nutcracker image is great. My oldest son loves nutcrackers and I gave him my nutcracker ornaments. I see you must have shown all of your s&p shakers. I came looking for some. I think I saw and commented on every one that you have shown. What an interesting and very nice collection. Thanks for letting us see.
The link above your card took me to Vicki D's blog, but I found ya anyway:)
Your card is great, and I love the flower soft touches you added. The bling really jazzed up this nutcracker perfectly!
