Several years ago I attended a class in which we learned how to "cut and stack" medallion images. Today's set reminded me of that class, so I thought I would give it another try. Three of the layers of the medallion were stamped on silver cardstock and layered with the blue and/or yellow pieces.
Here's a view from the side so that you can see the layers stacked on top of one another.
I've decided to play with my new Sizzix Flip-Its Framelits die sets this week. What I like about these die sets is that, in addition to the basic card outline, there are about eight to ten different dies included so it's really easy to mat them. Here is the card I made using the Circle Flip-Its and just the center of the medallion. I added some dew drops for a little texture.
The papers I used are from a DCWV Glitter stack that I bought several years ago and the cover is gone, so I can't even tell you what the name of the paper pad is. All of the sheets have glitter on them. Here's the card open to the inside.

ReplyDeleteLois you have outdid yourself. I did a lot of those "cut and stack" cards years ago with a local stamp comany (out of business) Outlines. I'm surprised I didn't think of doing this technique guess I had tunnel vision with shakers. thanks for sharing.
