Sabrina gave the CCEE Stampers a different kind of challenge this week -- a poem by Archibald MacLeish, called Ars Poetica. We were to pick one or more of the bits of imagery in the poem for inspiration. This is the part I chose:
"A poem should be . . .
Leaving, as the moon releases
Twig by twig the night-entangled trees,
Leaving, as the moon behind the winter leaves,
Memory by memory the mind . . . ."
If you'd like to play along with us, link your card up over on the CCEE Stampers Blog.
You certainly captured the essence of the poem, Lois. Great work!
ReplyDeleteI love your night tree and the moon! I can feel the chill. It appears we just about all latched onto this part of the poem. Wasn't this fun??
ReplyDeleteI was coming home late this evening from my aunt's and we have a full(ish, at any rate) moon just like this. But the tree at the end of our road has been cut down. This would be a fab masculine card with the dramatic bare tree and the super plaid background.
ReplyDeletewow...you were truly inspired by the poem....just love that tree and the textured bkgd...fabbo
ReplyDeleteA fabulous scene you have created from the poem.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favorite trees.
