Paperweight Tutorial

I first saw this particular project on Becca Feeken’s blog several years ago.  It’s a cute little paperweight made from a glass tea light candle holder.

Supplies needed:

Tea light candle in glass holder  (Mine was purchased at Michael’s for $1.)
Stamps  (I used MFP Lotus Blossoms.)
Ink  (Memento Tuxedo Black)
Coloring media (Copic markers)
White cardstock scrap
Light cardboard scrap
Coordinating-colored cardstock scrap
Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities   (2 sizes)
Adhesive felt pads
Glue lines

STEP ONE

Stamp and color image.

STEP TWO

Cut out image using smaller die and cardboard/coordinating-colored cardstock using larger one.

STEP THREE

Place image circle upside down in opening of glass candle holder.

STEP FOUR

Replace candle and run glue line over and around opening.  You could also use a hot glue gun.  Attach coordinating-colored cardstock to cardboard base.

STEP FIVE

Adhere large cardboard circle to bottom on candle holder.  You can either cover the entire cardboard circle with a felt circle or place small felt pads around the edge, which is what I chose to do.

And here is my finished paperweight.
