Brenda started off her month as hostess of the CCEE Stampers challenges with a technique I rarely use, and she's ending it with a technique I have never used -- Dryer Sheet Flower. She gave us a link to the Splitcoaststampers tutorial, which I definitely had to check out. After you have cut out the shapes from the dryer sheet, the instructions tell you to spray them with spray ink or shimmer mist. Unfortunately, I had neither; so I put on my thinking cap. I took a small mister filled with water and added some purple reinker. Guess what -- it worked! Also new to me was the Decorative Labels One die, which I really like. I've had the Floral Flourishes dies for a while, but this was the first time I used them.
Stop on over at the CCEE Stampers blog to see all the pretty dryer sheet flowers.

Great job with the flower, Lois. Sounds as if I did challenge you this month..with two of the challenges, at least. The re-inker and mister did the trick. Very pretty indeed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Lois. Love the purple and green combo!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think our best results come from using what we have and adapting it. I love your purple flower and the wonderful panel with the nestie and flourish!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Lois! I only have a purchased mist in one neutral colour, so for sprays I always make my own with re-inkers and maybe some Perfect Pearls in a mister. I'm glad your daughter had dryer sheets so you didn't have to do any more improvising! I love your colours, and your new dies.
ReplyDeleteLois,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and elegant and your flower looks lovely! I really like the scalloped edges.
Just gorgeous, Lois. Look at the beautiful layers you have on your flower and the stickles. Great job!
ReplyDeleteNice card! Very pretty dryer sheet flower. Like the edges all sparkled-up! :)
