Hi Crafty Friends,
- 2 new Script Sentiment Die Sets
- 3 new Border Die Sets
- 2 new Pop-up Die Sets
- 1 new Add-on Die Sets
- 1 stand alone Die Set
Hi Crafty Friends,
For today's sneak peek, I returned to the Stocking Pop-Up. This time, however, I did not make either a Halloween or a Christmas card. I wanted to show the versatility of this particular die set, so I made a castle-related birthday card. On the front I did a bit of mixing and matching of word sets and added a computer-generated phrase at the end.
Only a few more days until the Blog Hop on Monday, where you could win one of many $25 gift certificates to the Karen Burnison website.
Yesterday I showed how to use the new Karen Burniston Oven Pop-Up on a Thanksgiving card; today it's a Christmas card. Again, it's a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square card with a very simple lead-in.
As you can see from this close-up, there are gingerbread cookies baking in the oven and some cooling on the countertop.
My card today uses the new Oven Pop-Up and Oven Extras sets. These sets are so cool with all their little bits and pieces. We're all cooking and baking in the fall -- especially when Thanksgiving rolls around.
But when you open the card, there is a fully stocked kitchen with upper and lower cabinets, drawers and even a brick backsplash. I brought some more of those Autumn Elements in from the front of the card on the "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment oval.
By the way, the oven door opens to reveal a turkey roasting inside. My Thanksgiving oven doesn't look like that however because my son deep-fries our turkey!
I've seen several creative kitchens made by the rest of the design team. I hope you check them out. And be sure to check in on our Blog Hop next Monday. There are many chances for you to win a $25 gift certificate to the Karen Burniston website.
Yesterday I used the new Stocking Pop-up for a Halloween card. Today I'll use it for a Christmas card. The front of the card uses one of the new Christmas Borders dies -- the candy canes. The two small gingerbread men are from the Winter Charms set.
And, as you can see, there is another new die set on there -- the Small Sentiments Christmas.
I hope you'll stop by tomorrow when I use a completely different new set.
It's time to get the excitement going -- new release time from Karen Burniston. My first sneak peek uses a Christmas die set -- Stocking Pop-up -- but for Halloween. It just shows that Karen's dies are very versatile.
Actually, this card was made with several new dies besides the Stocking Pop-Up. The sentiment on the front is from a new set called Small Sentiments - Halloween.
This short video shows how the mechanism for the Stocking Pop-Up works. As you open the card, the contents of the cauldron pop up.
I appreciate your stopping by my blog today. Be sure to come back tomorrow for another sneak peek.
For this month's Designer Challenge, Karen asked each of us to use the Holiday House set. As Halloween is right around the corner, I chose to make a Halloween slimline card using this die. Karen has several Halloween-themed dies, so I had a lot of dies from which to choose to make my spooky scene.
For my scene, I started with gray cardstock and sponged some Hickory Smoke ink around the sides and top to give the sky a bit of depth.
I know the rest of the team has some great Holiday House cards as well. Be sure to check them out.
