I had the most fun with today's set, my favorite of this month's release.  I had seen a You Tube video on how to make a match box-type gift card holder and decided to give it a try.

There is enough space behind the last flower pot to insert a gift card.

Check out the rest of the hop.

CCEE1526 Weddings

Liz wraps up the month of June for the CCEE Stampers with an Inspiration Challenge.  For our final challenge of the month,we were to make a card featuring a bridal couple or a wedding cake.  She gave us a Pinterest board to use for inspiration - www.Pinterest.com/aspecialday/creative-wedding-cakes  I may have fudged just a bit because I didn't make a card, I made a tag inspired by this wedding cake.

I think the rest of the team followed the directions better than I did.  Check out the CCEE Stampers Blog to see.

Card Maker/Avery Elle Blog Hop

I was so excited to play with some new stamps and dies for this blog hop, sponsored by Avery Elle and CardMaker Magazine.  I love stamps and dies which coordinate with each other.  Avery Elle is giving away a $30 gift certificate at the end of the hop, so be sure to check out their blog.  Hopefully, you have arrived at my blog from Melania's blog.  If not, and you'd like to start at the beginning -- it starts at the CardMaker Blog.

The stamp set I am highlighting today is called Bring on the Cake, which has three large images, three small images, and a ton of sentiments!  There are five dies in the die set.   I think my first card would be great for a guy -- what with all the browns and blues. I love the play on words in the sentiment. After coloring my bundt cake, I added some clear 3-D Lacquer on the icing to give it a little sheen.

I used some old retired Stampin' Up DSP on my second card, featuring the slice of cake.  I added the cherry to complement the design in the patterned paper background.

My third card is fun -- with the cupcakes and sprinkles.  (Who doesn't like cupcakes and sprinkles!)  I actually used some more of that same Stampin' Up DSP paper pack on this one, too.

Thanks for stopping by today.  The next stop on the hop is JJ's blog.   And don't forget to check out how you can win the $30 gift certificate at the Avery Elle Blog.

CCEE1525 Long Card

Liz, our CCEE Stampers Blog hostess for June, asked us to make a long card today -- to celebrate the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year.  I had watched a video explaining how to use a die cut as a divider on a card, separating two different kinds of paper.   So I thought I would give it a try.

Stop over at the CCEE Stampers Blog to see how the rest of the team met this long-card challenge.

CCEE1524 Everything is Coming up Roses

Liz continues on as hostess for the CCEE Stampers Blog challenge.  As the rose is the flower for June, Liz asked us to use a rose or roses on our cards today.  I decided to make a flip card, using a Sizzix die.

After watching a video on Stephanie Barnard's website, I learned how to make a flip card with a hidden panel.

Check out the CCEE Stampers Blog to see what floral creations the rest of the team has made using roses.

Card Maker/Sizzix Blog Hop

I  am a big fan of using die cuts on cards, so I was happy to learn that CardMaker magazine and Sizzix were partnering for this blog hop.  Sizzix very generously provided all the blog team members with products for the hop.  My cards today were all made using a fun Triplits set, Hello, Sunshine -- as well as a couple of other Sizzix die sets.  That happy little sun is just too fun!

The first card I have for you today is a center-step card on which I used some cloud patterned paper as well as both the sun and the chevron cloud from the set along with the shadows for each one.  In addition, I also have some strips made with another Sizzix Thinlits die set -- Borders.

I didn't include the sun on my second card, but I put that cute little happy face into the cloud for this get-well card.  The words are part of another Sizzix set -- the Circle Flip-Its Card #4.

My last card was the most fun to make.  I think flip cards are so creative, and I watched a video on Stephanie Barnard's website on how to add a "hidden panel" to one.  Again I used the Circle Flip-Its Card #4 for the base of my card, and the "Happy Birthday" greeting is from the Regal Stand-Up Card die set.

And, when you open up the hidden panel, this is what you get!

As a “thank you” for taking the time to follow our little card-making thread, Sizzix will be giving ONE LUCKY WINNER a Sizzix Big Shot Machine, their choice of 3 Stephanie Barnard dies from her latest cardmaking Sizzix collection as well as a YEAR subscription to CardMaker magazine! All of the details for the giveaway and how you can enter for a chance to win can be found on Sizzix’s site.

Tomorrow Jennifer Priest will be presenting some creations using more Sizzix dies.  Be sure to check out her blog.  Here's the link.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  I was so happy to share my creations with you.

CCEE1523 Rolling into Summer

New month, new CCEE hostess . . . Liz is our hostess for June, and she started us off by asking us to use a brayer.  I have to admit, that the brayer is not the first tool I would choose.  I have had very limited success using it.  The only way I'm happy with the results is to use glossy paper, so that's what I used for my project.

Some time ago, I bought several small address books, and I pulled one of them out of the drawer for my project today.

Hop over to the CCEE Stampers blog and see what the rest of the team did with their brayers.

Scor-Pal More Than One Score - Weddings

I’m the hostess for this month’s Scor-Pal More Than OneScore challenge.  As this is June (the month of weddings), I chose Weddings as my theme.  My project is a fun box which I learned how to make last year, and I will show you how to make one for yourself . . . or to give to the bride and groom.

Supplies you will need for this project are:

·         Scor-Pal
·         Paper trimmer
·         Adhesive runner
·         Scor-Tape
·         Scissors
·         2 pieces of cardstock 6” x 9”
·         2 pieces of cardstock 6” x 6”
·         1 piece of cardstock 10” x 10”
·         4 pieces of patterned paper 5 ¾” x 5 ¾”
·         2 pieces of patterned paper 3” x 6”
·         1 piece of patterned paper 4” x 4”
·         8 pieces of patterned paper 3” x 4”
·         Ribbon
·         Stamps, embellishments, cardstock as desired to decorate lid

Place one of the 6” x 9” pieces of cardstock longways across the top of the Scor-Pal and score at 3”.  Repeat with second piece.

Adhere strips of Scor-Tape to the small section of one of these panels.

Glue the two small pieces together to form one long sheet of cardstock 6” x 15”.  Cut two pieces of ribbon approximately 12” long at attach at center of each 6” x 6” panel at the ends.

Adhere the 5 ¾” x 5 ¾” pieces of patterned paper to the 6” x 6” pieces of cardstock
 . . .

. . . and adhere to one side of the now 6” x 15” panel.

In the original tutorial that I had followed for my first box, the patterned paper (6” x 6”) was glued directly onto the long panel.  I have found that, by trimming it by 1/4” and gluing it to a second 6” x 6” panel, it makes for a more sturdy lid.

Adhere the 3” x 6” patterned paper to the center and then adhere the remaining pieces of patterned paper to the other side the same way.

Your cover is now completed.

For the box portion, score the 10” x 10” piece of cardstock at 3” on all four sides.

Using your scissors, cut into the corners to create tabs.

Add Scor-Tape to the tabs and fold to create the box.

Now adhere the 4” x 4” patterned paper to the bottom of the box and four of the 3” x 4” pieces to the inside walls.  You may have to trim these pieces slightly to fit.  Test the fit before gluing down the inside pieces.  Adhere the final four 3” x 4” pieces of patterned paper to the outside walls.

Apply Scor-Tape to the bottom of the box.

Adhere the box to the center of the bottom panel of your cover.

Your box is now completed.  Decorate the lid as desired.

This concludes my tutorial for the June edition of the Scor-Pal More Than One Score challenge.
